When it comes to our hair we all have different goals. Mine was to have long healthy hair. Actually I wanted to see if I could get it to grow longer than it ever had been.

I reached that goal then i said I wanted APL, reached that goal. Then I realized ok I just want long hair. Of course compared to most on the ladies on the board my hair is not that long but now that I consider myself to have long hair it's not what I thought it was going to be.

I thought oh if i have long hair i can do this and that, style it this way etc. and I can do those things but what i did not consider is that, this ish is ALOT OF WORK!!!!!

I thought having long hair would make things easier to style.....Heck no! I could put it in a pony/bun and keep right on going (No offense to the ponytail queens) but that's just not me. I need variety. So what's a girl to do, do i continue to grow my hair...(which is what i want, i want to see just how long it will get)IDK.

I guess i just need to suck it up and deal with. Anyone else feel this way

I'm may start carusoing and flex rodding during the rest of my stretch and using the scarf method

but i sure will be a whole lot of weeks post relaxer during this but i'm about tired of these twists

I guess i just miss my hair
but IDK what to do either

but i'm doing the HYH till xmas so i may just have to keep it braided like i had planned

You could always find a stylist that you trust to style your hair.

 I understand. I usually keep mine up now, but I’m trying to figure out if I’m going to fully transition, transition and put some type of wave relaxer in (Mizani silkening) or just continue relaxing after the break!

I could but i just don't see wasting money to go to the stylist that i trust to trim my hair, I used to go to her all the time and my hair grew but i didn't like the styles. I want to be able to leave the shop and not go home and doctor it up.

So i see her maybe once every 3-4 months for a trim. Other than that i style me and my daughter's hair. I wish there were others i trusted but i don't and i'm too scared to find another one.

I'm one of those Bun Queens () that you referred to. Yes, I'm sick of the bunning and the protective styles. I hear what you're saying about wanting a change, something different. Working for long hair a lot of work if you don't keep it in buns like I do. ;) However, this past weekend, I violated one of my cardinal hair rules and used direct heat. It was only the second time this year that I used heat. I wanted to see if my hard work had been paying off. I'm at nearly 10 weeks post relaxer and I won't relax, actually, until December. Well, I washed, oil rinsed, and conditioned. Then, blow dried my hair and wore it straight. I could not believe how much my hair has grown. Though it's not relaxed, my ends reached APL or a little bit beyond. I was shocked! I didn't think my hair was growing much at all due to the shrinkage.

So that actually motivated me to keep sacrificing and working toward this goal of healthy care. I have achieved it. My hair looks very healthy and is getting thicker and thicker. I still have some ways to go, but seeing my progress...even if it's just a minor progress...encourages me to stick with it.:yep:

So maybe you should do something different to your hair that you haven't tried to keep you motivated. I tell you, I was so happy and felt really great after seeing my progress. I wore my hair down for that entire day...just wore it straight and that's something I do not do.:drunk:

see i will have to do the opposite of what you did, my hair is always out...so maybe i need to hide my hair for a couple weeks at a time....can't go any longer than that and see what's up
