Godzooki, where did you get that bun cover, it's absolutely adorable

Godzooki, whenever I tried combing after wash I loose tons of hair so I don't do that anymore. Once you put the scrunchie around don't wrap around the loose hair. Add your leave-ins to the top part of your hair and then to the hair hanging out of the scrunchie and once your done wrap the rest of the hair into your bun. HTH

I'm almost 10weeks post relaxer, and i must say the last time I went this long w/o relaxing was a devastating to my hair, and I vowed to never try it again, But, here I am trying it again, and I must say, i'm doing pretty good, due to a new product find at the Detroit area meeting. Tai gave up some Frizz Ease Relax staright forward, and Texture Correcting Serum, and that stuff set my napps straight, foreal. I was able to get the blowdryer through my roots w/ ease and slight shedding. I'm sold on this product

. my 4a cottony locks was MUCH more managable after I used it. I have a sew-in weave now, and I dont plan to take it down until another 4weeks or so depending on how it holds up. So, that will put me at 14weeks which is the LONGEST I've went w/o relaxing other than when I went natural about 2yrs ago.
Anywho, all is going well thus far, I just hope the Frizz Ease can handle what comes from under this weave in a few more weeks, lol

Edited to add: Thanx Tai

I have one of those bun cover things except its brown and beaded, it was only $2 at burlington coat factory, they have lots of cute hair accessories at reasonable prices. Just dont buy the clips bc they break easily, but headbands and haircombs are good deals.

Okay ladies I am off the 6 month challenge. I can't make it. I undid my braids because my roots where starting to ravel and I am a major shedder. Although I did not shed too much, the shed hair did the old tiny knots thang around my hairs. I flat iron and I have nothing but puffy hair

. I'm 9 weeks and I guess from the summer heat the new growth kicked in so I'm only going to last 12 weeks. Oh well, maybe next time

Sorry it took me so long to reply Miosy. I couldnt find the thread! I just grabbed my bun cover at a BSS I found about 2 3 cities over. It was only $2.00. I'm liking it alot! I did try your suggestions for bunning and it worked great! Thanks!

Bumping for updates:

I am three months post relaxer and have a decent amount of newgrowth. I'm not going to use PhytoRelaxer again. I wasn't too terribly impressed. I didn't really see much of a diiference, except for the first few weeks-Honeymoon Period ... lol.

How's everyone else doing?

Hey ladies,
This Sat. will be 15 weeks post relaxer. S-Curl has been my best friend. Yesterday I bought Better Barids Unbraid thanks to AJamericanDiva and it really does a good job of softening my new growth. I can easily comb my hair its just that it is a lot poofier than usual.

I went 20 weeks last time and had a horrible touch-up experience that resulted in barely texturized hair in some regions and barely relaxed hair in others /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif. So I desperately need to correct it, b/c I think my kinky region is more vulnerable to breakage since I'm doing the wash n' wear. I'm going into week 7, but will probably touch-up and correct (MYSELF) around week 9. Then I'll see if I can return to long term stretching again.

getting on the stretching out relaxer challenge made me want to go natural! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm at 3 months today and I'm getting a touch up and trim tomorrow. I'm anxious to measure my hair and update my siggy. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm 9 weeks post. I usually go 12 weeks but I might stretch it longer this time...not sure though. /images/graemlins/scratchchin.gif

I relaxed at the end of August, and am now 3 weeks post relaxer. I plan to stretch to 18wks this time. I hope not to relax until around January 4, 2005.

I probably will not relax until November, but I'm hoping to hold off until december. I'd like to relax my hair just as the Holidays start, so that it looks fresh and bouncy!

Ooh... I wanna join this challenge. Is it too late? I recently just self-relaxed my hair and plan to strecth this relaxer out until January (my next hair goal).

No, it's not too late!

I am 7 weeks post relaxer and just discovered that Elucence shampoo and conditioner really soften my newgrowth along with Sta So Fro so I am going to see how long I can go this time.

As some of you already know, I'm no longer transitioning. But I extended my relaxer for the first time and longest time I've ever done! /images/graemlins/grin.gif I relaxed after 12 weeks of waiting. When I got a relaxer (ElastaQP Regular), it did not straighten my crown area; it only straighten my edges and nape area. I think I didn't keep it in long enough because it started burning my scalp. /images/graemlins/whip.gif My mom usually uses ElastaQP Mild but we ran out and my mom asked my sister to buy some more and she bought the Regular strength! /images/graemlins/tongue.gif Hopefully, I can deal with this underprocessed hair until December 31 which is my next planned touch-up date. /images/graemlins/look.gif

I just used ElastaQp relaxer in super for the first time today and I think it did well. I am surprised that I haven't heard more about it on this board. I even did a search and didn't come up with much.

Stretching relaxers has been a huge NO NO for me. My hair gets so dry at the line and my hair begins to break. The only time I can stretch is if I have braids.

I'm now 6 weeks post relaxer.. and even though I managed to go 21 weeks last time, I'm sorry to say I dont think I'll make it past 10 this time. My goal is to make it until January, but I'm not so sure I want to go nonstop-braids .. I guess only time will tell..

I'm 12 wks. I've decided to stretch it to 16 wks this time. We'll see...

Hey, I guess it's not too late.

I'm going to just see how long I can wait. I'm going to shoot for 6 months! So, since my last relaxer was Sept. 9th, (9+6 = 15-12 = 3 = March), I'm shooting for March 9th. Even if I can't make it though, I still won't get anything until December! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

This Sunday will be 4 Months for me, but I am going to wait longer again. The last time I held off for 5 months, so I'll see if I can do it again ... or even longer. We'll see!
