Yes, basically, I rinse my hair with bottled drinking water like Evian, Volvic, but Tesco's brand is the cheapest and it does not contain the other minerals found in tapwater. Since I have been doing this I have found my hair is much softer and less dry.

Water found in other parts of Europe, Northern England, Caribbean, is a lot softer than water found in the South East, including London. I have tried boiling my water and using is cooled, but I experienced the same dryness, so I found rinsing with bottled water was the best option.

So is the consensus that distilled water is the key?

For me it is....distilled water contains 'nothing'...no minerals of any kind. Even rain water contain minerals it gathers from the atmosphere. Since there is nothing in it..there is nothing to react with the ingredients in my products(which is why my natural products work so well). They(natural products) don't work ar well to in tap water.

I've been spraying my hair since it's still braided, and getting good growth, but I will do the full cond. rinse since summer is officially here.
Good idea LD to keeping us on our toes.

Hello Ladies:

I have one question for you, what do you do with your wet hair once you come out of the bath; do you braid your hair in one or two?

In the summers I would wash my hair daily, and use a product that would keep my curls in shape, but when it would come to the fall time, I would go back to my rollersetting, and I realised that though it was easy to wash daily in the summer it left my ends very dry, however the daily washing did give me growth.

Plus I would not sleep with a satin scarf, and I did not protect my curls, which was exposed to the hot sun.

I would like to return back to the Daily wash or rinsing, but I could only see my hair being really dry, and frizzy.

I tried the Nexxus Verstyler, but it made my hair and curls with a crispy feeling, so I asked the shop Mgr, and he said for me to try Nexxus Headress.

Ladies, can I get some advice please.

Thanks

British

I use a mixture of Pantene Pro-V Smooth & Sleek and Paul Mitchell Supercharged mixed with a little oil and use this as a leave in on soaking wet hair. After applying it I then squeeze out the excess water. Keeps my hair moisturized. I also follow this with Carol's Daughter's Healthy Hair Butter(gives my curls some hold)but you don't really need to. I works just as well without it.

Update. The sceptic has crossed over into the land of MOISTURE!!!

I have been daily rinsing since last Sunday. (Will be exactly one week tomorrow). So far I love it. My hair is so much softer and manageable. I'll have to wait probably another week to notice any change in the growth department but as far as shedding/breakage.... 75% improvement. I get less hair in the comb while combing wet as opposed to when I used to comb dry.

I went back to a junior high school favorite. Salon Selectives. Their Completely Drenched Moisture Conditioner is off the hook!!!!

I've been doing daily conditioning rinses (I don't consider them "washes" because I don't massage or take special care to clean my scalp at all. I use shampoo for that once a week) and my hair is REALLY thriving - it's soft and I think it's might even be getting longer! Between the shakes and the conditioner and water that are applied to my hair everyday after my workout, I find that my hair is more manageable as well.

I'm going to start wearing my hair in wet buns more often tho. I'd been wearing it in curls and it's getting too hot in NY to even wear it down at all.

When it's in curls it reaches about 2-3 inches past my shoulders in back and a little past my collar bone in the front. I haven't straightened it in QUITE a while. I think I'm going to hold out until the fall. I can't wait to see what kind of length I get!

wow this is great news. glad it is working out for you tracy21 and tracy. I will be starting up with daily condition washes on monday. I have to get some distilled water and buy a scarf. I play to wear the scarf after the hair is dry as a daily style. you know a scarf to match my outfits and probably get a wash and set every two weeks from now on. plus since i have my caruso curlers and the coconut oil is helping with the straightness i may just be able to do this for the rest of the summer. God bless you all.

Do you add acv when you do daily rinses? I've been seeing a lot about ACV but not sure how to do to mix it with water and how to use it? Please advise anyone!

I'm interested to know that as well. I've been skeptical about starting the ACV rinses because I don't know the proper dilution and would hate to "pickle" my hair.

My hair has grown 2 inches since May (minus a modest trim which was necessary for splits) since I started rinsing daily. I also switched to distilled and boy, it sure makes a difference. I need minerals in my body, not in my hair!

Anyway, I plan on doing this until September. I hope I have another 2 more inches by then!!

Well yesterday I got drenched in the rain, so I had to rinse my hair( i don't do daily rinses. every 4 days)I used the VO5 pina colada moisturizing shampoo on my scalp. I rinsed and then I put the Fantasia IC reconstructor in for 1 minute and rinsed and. I put some mousee in my hair and I wet wrapped. MY HAIR LOOKS SO DAMN GOOD RIGHT NOW!!!

Msprettyeyes- that's fantastic!! Can u tell me how u used your mousse? I got some alcohol free mousse but am not sure how to use it.

Also, depending on where u live, rain water is the best kind of water for one's hair!!! I know everytime, I get drenched in a storm my hair looks and feels great!! But, I"ll save that for another thread.

OH THANK YOU! i PARTED MY HAIR A LITTLE IN THE MIDDLE. THEN I PUT A ROLLER AT THE TOP OF MY HEAD. NEXT I PUT MOUSSE IN MY HAIR ( BE GENEROUS WITH IT....DON'T BE SCURRED) AND i WET WRAPPED AND SAT UNDER THE DRYER FOR 2 LONG HORRIBLE MISERABLE HOURS (IT WAS WORTH IT) BY THE WAY I LIVE IN NYC SO RAIN WATER HERE IS FULL OF JUNK.

I CO washed again last night and put the hair in a bun. Will leave it alone for the rest of the rainy week. The ends don't stay as straight when i take the bun down and wear it in the hair claw. Plus, I can sleep in the bun, but not with the claw. I just don't wanna be bothered with hair care right now.

Thank u girl!! I'm gonna try that minus the dryer, cause I don't have one!!

I can't find distilled water in the commissary ( military name for the grocery store) so I've been using my Culligan Drinking water or my hard water. I have been noticing tremendous growth now that I've been doing the CO wash everyday. I was a little nervous by doing this w/o distilled water, but my hair hasn't been shedding or falling out even when I use hard so I'm ok as long as my hair doesn't fall out.

Jellynote: U can purchase distilled water at the PennyMarkt for 79 cents for a one Liter bottle, or better yet at the REAL or any German grocery store, and get 5 Liter bottles for under $2. It will say Destilliertes Wasser on the bottle. It's usually where the cleaning supplies are, u won't find it at the drink section. U can also get it at the Wal-Mart if there's one out your way.
