Hi Ladies,

Two years ago, I discovered this message board while I was still a natural deciding what I wanted to do with my hair next. After seeing Tracy's pics and remembering what my "doobie" was like, I decided I would relax again. Well, here is a pic of me taken in Feb 2004 the day I was going back to the relaxer and some pics from yesterday. I have learned so much here. Thankee!!! =)

Wow, great progress. What is your regimen???? How many inches did you attain???? It is hard to tell since in the first picture you were natural.

Thanks Ladies,

Well, I can't say for sure how many inches I've attained, b/c I've cut several inches over the past two years. I don't really have a regimen b/c I don't do my hair, but I use mild sodium hydroxide relaxers and relax btw. 8-12 wks. I trim as needed. Right now I could use one, not b/c of split ends, but to "clean" them up. When I remember, I take MSM, Silica, Super B-Complex, Super Omega Complex, Kelp and Vitamin E (d-Alpha).

I used Affirm all of last year, but when my tub ran out, I started using PCJ and it's worked well for me.

My favorite shampoo is: Queen Helene unscented garlic shampoo--although it has Ammonium Laurel Sulfate (which is supposedly bad), I find that my hair is really shiny even if I don't use a conditioner afterwards (I know, that's crazy).

I like Dark and Lovely Ultra Cholesterol conditioner

I recently discovered Nexxuss Emergencee and my hair has benefitted greatly.

When I'm wearing a bun and my ends are looking parched, I use Organic Root Stimulator Carrot Oil and my hair drinks this up. I didn't like the Hollywood Beauty version.

Oh, my hair looovvees serums . . . but not too much, too often. When I'm freshly rollerset or flat-ironed, I use Biosilk (this stuff is goood) to "smooth" my hair.

Umm, that's about it.

Your hair looks really pretty. Out of curiousity, how come you went from natural to relaxed? did you just get bored?

I love your hair .It looks healthy and it has really grown!!!ITA the queen helene garlic shampoo is very good it stops shedding and does leave the hair shiny. The Dark and Lovely cond used to be a staple of mine years ago I need to revisit that one I don't know why I stopped using it.
