Do you sometimes think that you spend too much time on haircare (washing, conditioning, popping vitamins, reading hair magazines and books, talking to other people about hair and being on this forum 24/7, etc).

(Sometimes I have to tell myself: " Give it a rest girl, it'll grow, just leave it alone"

).

When it comes to actually performing my hair care regimen, I don't look at it as too much time - instead I tend to look at it as an investment, especially after so many years of unknowingly harming my hair! I have much to make up for!

But sometimes I think I get carried away reading different forums, etc. But it's just fun and informative at the end of the day so no harm done, right? lol

Well I actually like doing hair, not just my hair either. As far as being on this forum, yes I spend too much time here.

Same here.

I do find myself overly preoccupied with my hair and I am so stuck on this board that I sometimes forget how to surf other sites. Anyway, I told myself to stop looking for the next best thing; Stick to what works for now. Stop obsessing over split ends;trims with every relaxer will be good enough. Stop freaking out over the hairs in the comb (brush, tub, etc.); hairs do shed. Yeah, I know what you mean

i did obsess until i got braids. ever since then, i've become even lazier than i was before. i spent so many years having to do my hair twice a week that this washing and combing once a week has been a treat!

I'm nowhere as obsessed as I used to be, thank goodness. I was reading some of my old journal entries from last year, and everyday I entered something, hair was mentioned at least once. That's a damn shame.

I became more obsessed with hair now than i was before joining this forum.

I would say I probably messed with my hair more back then when it was longer because I used the curling irons everyday. I also used grease, nothing else. I never protected my hair at night, just slept on a cotton case pillow. My hair always looked dry and stayed the same length.

Now, I mess with my hair the most once a week when I shampoo, condition, etc. I moisturize my hair most of the days out of the week whenever I remember to or have time to. I dont feel like that is too much time for hair. Ive gotten rid of the curling irons so I think that will help my hair drastically.

I probably spend more time 'talking' about hair than doing my hair. I've become a little lazy (lately) when it comes to doing my hair.

Everytime I think of journaling I stop myself for this very reason. I don't journal anymore about anything, so why for hair?! It would just be more time dedicated to the illness.

As far as caring for my hair... I don't think I spend too much time. Just b/c I wash my hair a few times per week, which is more than most non-forum women, I don't think it's excessive, though they might. I think it's more excessive to spend 4 hours waiting in a salon every other week just to get a shampoo and curl.

So it all evens out. Now as far as the amount of time I spend talking about hair on this forum....
confused.gif
that's another issue.

As far as my weekly wash routine goes no I don't think I spend too much time on my hair because I keep my regimin as simple as possible (i've never been one to mess with my hair a lot). Now as sengschick said if your gonna ask about time spent on this forum talking about hair that's completely different

I don't think I'm obsessed. Even though my mother tells me I'm vain when it comes to my hair, I just like for my hair to look good. If a person works out all the time are they obsessed or just try to stay healthy! Some of my friends that I would never cut my hair short. They say "hair isn't everything" and "hair doesn't make you" blah blah blah. My hair doesn't make me the person I am but I love having it.
