I think I may have hit MBL finally. Thoughts? This has always been my goal. But now that I'm here, I think I might shoot for waist length.
These are pics of my hair after washing and detangling. Hair is fully wet. It's the only way I can get a semi-decent length check as I don't really straighten my hair that often. I would imagine that I am dead on MBL, if I were to do a proper straightening. Also, look at the shrinkage. Looking at those two braids, there is no way in HECK I would have thought I was this length
So, I am on my own personal little challenge to get to waist length. I think that with baby on the way, the extra hormones and growth surge could get me there by the end of the year!!! Let's just call it nature's growth aid since I don't do any of the MSM or MN stuff.
For me, my regimen is pretty simple. I've pared it down over time - mainly because as a mother, student, wife and full-time worker, I just don't have the time to give up. So, I wash every 10 days to two weeks, and usually just bun it up. I co-wash and use a little bit of protein gel to slick back my fly aways. From time to time, I put coconut oil on my ends. If I’m in the mood, I put in twists on wash day, twisting with my home made moisturizer, wear the twists for 4 to 5 days, and then wear a twist out for another 4 to 5 days. I don’t really deviate from this.
I am planning to get a wig though. Was going to pick one up yesterday. But a little thing called this NYC snowstorm stalled my plans.
At any rate, here’s my length update. I’m getting there slowly but surely! Maybe I’ll do a true length check at the end of the year.
Also, forgive the back fat and my line-backer broad shoulders
To give you a since, the bottom pic is cut off where my hips start, well, where the top of my butt starts, so I guess my hips would still be a few inches lower...anyway. You get the point.
