Ok, here are the after pics. Not too bad. I could've trimmed some more off like another inch or 2, but I'll wait untill my toucjup. This looks soooo much better and I feel better too :D

I LOVE IT!!! OMG it's perfect.

PS. I didn't think it looked bad before... at least you didn't have big ol' chunks missing. :(

I just want to add that according to the Morrocco method, trimming at this time is good for thickening the hair. As I mentioned, your hair does look thicker and I agree with the previous poster that your hair looks longer somehow! I had to look at the "before" pic again and again. What a great husband you have! He did an awesome job!!

Girl THANK YOU!! See this is why I love you so much :D . You know I'm one that likes to trim by the moon phases, but I didn't feel like looking this time. I just wanted to get it over with. I'm sooooo glad that I picked the right time to trim.

Oh and the hubby wanted me to make sure that I let everyone know he is my "barber".

Your trim looks great! And what's weird is that it looks longer after the cut than before.

I was just going to say the same thing....for some reason it does look much longer than before.

ArmyQT,

Where'd you learn to trim like that? You did a fantastic job, any tips? I'd love to know what technique you used.

Looks Great!

ETA: Oh, I just read the rest of the thread....what a great husband!

Girl, there ain't nothing ugly about it. Your hair looks great, the shine, the thickness. Like AtlantaJJ said, touch-up time, brastrap length

GIrl let me serve as a lesson. PLEASE don't slip like I did. :)

The last time I stretched I did 8 months. I know I could transition, but I'm afraid of what my real hair looks like :p I've thought about it and it seems like it would be too much for me to deal with.

 I guess you weren't playin' when I talked to you earlier eh? It looks great!

Your hair looks awesome  but it didn't look that bad to me before. My hair is about armpit but I have MUCHO bad ends too. You may have given me the courage to get rid of them. I do have a question if you don't mind........how long did you hold on to your ends and was your hair splitting/breaking as a result? I'm 8 weeks post and mine are not splitting/breaking but I'm trying to figure out when to part with them.

Wow Army, that was very honest of you. I think many of us are afraid to voice similar thoughts for fear of being stoned. And I don't mean being stoned in a good way :lachen:

It looks really great! I'm glad that you didn't trim too much and that you're back on track. But i still don't get what happened? You said you just went awhile without keeping up with your regimen or what? Do you think you weren't keeping your hair moisturized enough or were these just over processed ends that would eventually have to go anyhow?

haha!! NOPE, I was dead serious. :lachen: I may cut some more after I relax. You know how when you finally pick up the scissors, you can't put them down? :p

I just noticed this about a month ago. Like I said, I don't wear my hair down. It's usally in a ponytail. I wash, ponytail it. SO it was until recently I discovered this. I have been doing mini trims, but eventually it all had to go. Over the course of the last month, I've cut about 3 inches off before today. I say if it's to' up just go and ahead and cut. Your hair will be much better for it. :)

Honestly, I think it was a combination of the two. But I do tend to lean more towards overprocessing on the ends. Here's my theory. I started using Phyto Index 1 about 2 yrs ago. Well if you look at my hair when it's wet, you can clearly see the texture difference on the ends vs. the rest of my hair. The ends are very straight and smooth and the rest of it is thick and wavy. Like I've been texlaxing.

So I think over the past 2 years I've grown out a full head o hair with Phyto and now I'm just trimming away the old relaxer.

Plus the use of heat didn't help. BUT at the same time, It's not like I was using heat everyday. When I was stretching here's what I'd do. After washing I would put it into two ponytails and airdry overnight. The next day, I would take the blowdryer through it to straighten it a little more. I did that about once a week. IMO that should not have been enough to damage my hair so much. So in a way, I do feel the ends were overprocessed. It's all good. I'll just look at it like a transition.

Army....I think the trim looks good and you probably did need it....but I bet after a relaxer it probably wouldn't have looked as drastic...in my experience being 10 weeks post ...for me...my ends always look worse than they are I think b/c of the poof factor.

Whew! That trim did the trick. And you didn't lose alot of length. I dunno, maybe the difference in hair texture you described contributed to it. You can definitely see the line demarcation in my hair. I went from texlaxed to relaxed this year. I guess I'll have to gradually trim some away too :(

Army,
Your hubby did a good job on your trim and trust me, once you get your relaxer, you 'll be so glad you trimmed. You'll be back at BSL in no time and will have all healthy hair to boot!

My hair is thin. I have fine strands but lots of them. DOn't let the pics deceive you. This is a result of not relaxing straight and stretching my relaxer. :)

Well hells bells, I'd have to stretch two years to get my hair looking even close to that...it looks hella thick!

dang MovieStar...

 I love you Mona. We need to talk about the Phyto. Did you notice that your hair isn't as straight as it used to be using Phyto? And judging from the shape my ends were in, that may be a good thing. :look:
