I have started swimming. I am wearing a simple ponytail. It looks cute and I look cute.

I use a swim cap. When I get out the pool and get dressed and look at my reflection, I feel like my hair looks beautiful.

The last five years or so, I have been extra kind, gentle and protective and loving to myself, and my hair is part of that.

Now, I’m reaping the rewards for all that diligence and care I have put in through the years.

I wore a fluffy, full ponytail yesterday and it was pretty.

Absolutely! Great hair care stores up momentum! Your hair will do great in withstanding the pool. The fact that it looks good when you get out is a great sign!

Im so not a picture taking person, but I took some pics of my half wig and pony styles this week.

Its funny that even though I just have my hair in mini twists underneath, I still enjoy doing my hair even though its a wig/clip in pony
the other thing I've noticed (though I already knew this) is that mt hair pulling is 100% sensory/tactile ... because I still play in the half wig (which is human hair, but not the ponytail, which is synthetic

I found this barrette/bun cage it’s wooden and comes in a few different colors and sizes. I kind of want one but the small is $55 and I probably need a medium or a large to hold all my hair. And I’m not 100% sure I could figure out how to use it.

I had something sort of similar, but the shell part was made out of coconut, and the wooden stick was minimally polished. Wore it for years and years, but eventually, it was no match for the powers of a destructive toddler. A relative had gotten it from the Caribbean, so it probably only cost the equivalent of a dollar or two at the time.

These look great! It's a good practice to style your natural hair under half-wigs. Caring for your real hair as usual underneath the half wig decreases the likelihood of ruining your progress after reaching your hair goals. This practice prepares you to style your real hair well once you wear it out and helps maintain your progress consistently, whether you're wearing half-wigs or not. It's excellent practice that fosters multiple hair goals at once.

@SimJam I know these pictures are to show your hairstyles, but your skin is flawless!! What’s your skin care routine?
Bless your heart, thanks, but Im wearing makeup in those pics ... and I woke up today with an extra nose on my nose LOL, so no make up today

I use The Ordinary products (started about 2 years ago). I did have some hyperpigmentation and was prone to hormonal acne (guess thats one good thing about peri menopause LOL no more hormonal acne) which normally left me with a few spots. but they have cleared up now with consistent use (morning and at bedtime. I just went on the website and chose what issues I wanted to address.
First pic in 2023
