That fine line between moisturizing your hair and making it greasy.

I realize that making that balance comes with practice. Sometimes I have to skip a day. Plus, I'm practicing with different moisturizer/oil combos.

I'm liking using Alterna's Hemp Oil Sheen spray to seal when I'm concerned about becoming to greasy.

That is why I LOVE Qhemet's Burdock Root Butter Cream. Since I have been using is every day AND still sealing with a bit of oil, my hair is very moist but not greasy at all.

I use her Olive Cream Detangler as a leave in and it kinda gives me that greasy feeling on wash day, but it disappears by the next day.

Her Burdock Root Butter Cream has been wonderful for moisture without the greasy feeling.

But some of my other favs do give me the greasy feeling.

HoneyDew is going to turn me into a product junkie....nevermind already too late!! :lachen: Yeah I really can't find that balance also!! Maybe I'm using too much product....the other day I used too little and my hair felt dry and hard....but other days like yesterday...I looked like a grease monkey... Or maybe I need to try sealing with a lighter oil...I dunno :nono:

I think what makes the difference is the texture/consistency of the moisturizer.

There are a couple products that I have found that soften and moisturize my hair. But there is only one that I can use as much as I want and never have greasy-looking hair.

Keracare oil moisturizer and conditioning creme soften my hair very well, but because of the texture of it, I can only use a little. If I use too much, it will weigh my hair down, make it clump together, and just look madd greasy.

But the texture of NTM I think is what makes it work so much better than the Keracare for me. It's much more creamy and light. I can literally drench my hair in this stuff (to the point that my hair is wet) and by morning my hair just soaks it up and it's very soft, fluffy, and moisturized.

I find that my scalp loves Profectiv Mega Growth the night before a shampoo and my hair simple adores  carrot and olive oil by Hollywood Beauty. Those little 3 dollar bottles are the best for maximum shine . For moisture S-Curl no drip, motions leave-in and Surge Hair Revitalizer seems to do the trick without the greasy effect.
