I use it as a finish on straight styles mainly for shine. A little go a long way, because it can get a little greasy. I will be trying somthing different (probably KeraCare silken) when this stuff is done. I have had the same jar (2 oz) for about 3 years.
Of the products that I started out with on this thread here is what I still have (though I've bought some more things here and there):
Shampoos:
Elasta QP Creme Conditioning Shampoo
Avalon Organics Lemon Verbena Clarifying Shampoo
Avalon Organics Lavender Nourishing Shampoo
Abba Crème Moist Shampoo
Heat Protectants:
Back to Basics Thermal Styler (heat activated setting spray with shea butter)
Paul Mitchell Heat Seal (humidity-resistant styling spray)
Redken So Long Heat Treat (heat activated leave-in treatment for long hair)
Setting Products:
Isoplus Hot Curler (allows curls to lock in place for a firm, crisp finish)
Miss Cool 5 Minute Fast Set (settling lotion)
Paul Mitchell Hair Sculpting Lotion
Perm Repair Setting Lotion (for wraps, waves, roller sets)
Hold Products:
Fantasia IC Hair Polisher Solid Ice Pomade
L'Oreal Studio FX Grab Extreme Stretch Gel (Mega Hold)
Proclaim Crystal Ice (Smooth styling pomade that is nearly identical to the Fantasia IC product)
Some of these products I have no use for or don't quite know how to incorporate them in to my regime. Some of them are being saved for a time when I might need them..
I seem to have missed this thread originally. Well, since discovering this board a few months ago, I've experimented with more than a few products. Below is my hair product inventory (organized alphabetically by product line . . .sorry, I'm anal that way). I've placed an asterisk next to the items used in my current regimen (Nexxus is an old reliable, but I'm loving KeraCare . . . UBH rocks as well):

I'm just not sure of what combinations to use them in or when to use them based on what my hair needs. What would be the best way for me to proceed? What products do you currently own and how do you decide when to use what?

I use everything that I have, and I am very happy with my leave ins, shampoo, water, and vaseline. )). I don't want to buy a bunch of products, because before I found these hair forums I would buy different products all the time and stop using them after the first use because they sucked. (Basically different versions of the same mineral oil and petrolatum black hair products.) I also usually throw out everything that doesn't work as soon as I can find a replacement.
I'm still looking for good products to
add shine
define my curls (for when I am actually natural)
give me decent straight hair with a blow dryer (is it a technique or a product or both?)
and a good deep moisturizing treatment. Mine works fine, but I know it could work so much better. I'd like it to add more silkiness in addition to the softness and moistness I get and have longer lasting effects. (Anyone tried Deep Moisturizing Mane 'n Tail Conditioner?)
So any of you product junkies who know just what works for all those needs, especially what doesn't cost an arm and a leg, holla at me.

You have a lot of products. If I were u, I wouldnt buy anymore products until everything is used up. Maybe use up one line of products and proceed with another line.
At one point I had over 30 products, but since then I've used up and given away. I'm proud to now be down to 15 products, 8 of which are keepers. Here's the list:
Hold products
-Queen Helene pink styling gel
-Aloe Vera gel
I don't have as much as you caress but I started running out of space and had to relocate my products.
As far as combinations, it just depends on what I want to accomplish for that day. I switch conditioners on a daily basis and only use 2 particular ones for my weekly deep condition.
