if someone is out in the dating world, is it fair for them to keep their illness a secret and not share that info right away?

also, just to throw this out there, should you be honest about your age?

I really don't know. Personally I'm upfront about an illness I have and share it when dating because it can affect the relationship. I think the person should do what they feel is best in terms of sharing things about themselves. Age is weird I don't share it and I feel like I don't care if I like someone. Although I tend not to like older men.

it's only fair to share if you have a terminal illness. why would you not?

i have no problem sharing my age.. i wouldnt want to date a guy much younger than me anyway and most guys don't really care if you're older.

They may not want to share unless it was somebody close to them. I wouldn't go around telling just anybody that I had a serious illness and was going to die

If we are talking terminal illness it's not fair to keep that to yourself. If it were me I'd probably bring it up in the beginning and let the person decide if they want to be involved with me.
