Spring Twist Crochet Braids Pics!!!

I never thought of doing it like that...crochet braids are versatile! And yours are beautiful!

Thanks, I got the idea from another member. She had curly twist. I plan on doing those next. Crochet braids are very versatile and a lot easier and faster for me than doing regular braids.

Cute.
A twist style without having to sit in the salon for hours getting your hair done.

Exactly, I'm just not willing to give my money to braiders for them to man handle my hair.

you did a great job!

Thanks :)

That is such a clever hairstyle!! I never would've thought to do it that way. Awesome!

Thanks :)

Very nice :yep:

Thanks :)

love it!
your cornrows are nice two

Thanks, I got a little sloppy towards the end which is why my cornrows got big on top.

Cute and very creative, you may need to start your own business.

Thanks, nope don't wanna start no business. I don't have the patience to do other peoples braids. I can only do my head because I can take as many breaks as I want and goof around.

very niiiiice, and the hair is less expensive than i imagined it would be. i may have to do this for my sister. or my mom. heck, maybe for myself.

did you pull the piece of hair thru so that half was on each side of the cornrow before you tied? i like the length of those.

Thanks, and I did exactly that. I used the latch hook to pull the hair under the cornrow so that it was exactly even( one half of hair on each side of the cornrow) and then tied a knot. After I tied the knot I began to 2 strand twist from right to left all the way down to the end and the cut the ends. Be sure and twist from right to left and not the other way. Twisting from right to left gives the desired spring look. They were actually longer than that, but I cut them. I could stretch them to my waist before but now I can stretch them to MBL. It is a very easy style to do and I will be doing them again.

You make me want to try these, I used to get crochet braids when I was younger all the time, how long did it take you?

Try them I bet you will like them. I never had the other ones so this is a first for me. It started Saturday night with cornrowing my hair and then I did a few rows of twist and went to bed. Then I did a few on Sunday and finished on Monday. I really don't have a specific amount of time it took me to do them. I wasn't really in a rush.

^^^oh, i didn't realize that you added the hair and then twisted it. for some reason, i was thinking it was pre-twisted. awesome.

Yeah you have to twist the hair yourself. It comes of the weft and you have to it cut it off. Then you take your fingers and lightly fluff it out by finger combing it. Then you take a small portion, crochet it in, tie the knot, and twist. Twisting takes the longest. I used the whole length of the hair. You can always cut the hair in half and it won't take as long, but I wanted longer twist.

OMGoodness - I am in awe (OK maybe not awe but like on cloud 9) and I haven't even seen the pictures yet. My next attempt was going to be spring twists and I was just daydreaming today about how to do them using the crochet technique. Can't believe you did it and I can't wait to see the pictures and I can't wait to try it for myself. I'll probably be bugging you a little bit in the future. Thanks for sharing (as I rush home to see pictures that are blocked at work tee-hee).

jw, what did you do the the ends of your hair? I like that you where able to put your hair up in a pony and you couldn't see the braids

Wow, your braids are beautiful. It looks like it's MUCH faster than putting in individual extensions? Maybe I'll try this in the near future. Thanks for sharing!

LOL, yes ma'am I did them with the crochet technique. It was very easy to do. I tried at first doing them the regular way where you braid a little onto your hair and then twist but my hair is long and would not stay in all of the twist no matter how much I tried. This was much easier and a lot neater looking since none of my hair is sticking out anywhere.

I cornrowed my hair going straight back. Then I took my braid that I just finished and added to the next braid as I was braiding. I did this for all of my braids so that none of my ends were hanging. I tried to take a pic, but it wasn't very clear.

Yes to me it is faster because and not as hard because I didn't have to worry about my own hair sticking out of the twist. It still took some time but faster than doing individual twist with my own hair. Also if you want it to go even faster, cut the hair in half and then twist. I used the whole length of the hair because I wanted my twist long.
