My Auburn & Brown Crochet Braids + The Priemiere of My Fotki!

the crochet braids looks really good on you but I have a question, how do you wash your hair w/o 1. Loosening your braids underneth and 2. W/o making the synthetic hair frizzy?

Lovely!! My goodness, you did this by yourself?? I am running over to your fotki for the tutorial. Very nice...how long do you expect to keep them in? Can this style last more than two weeks?

ETA: Sorry, already got the answer to this question!

WOW, BMP, you are so talented with styling your natural hair. I want to be just like you when I BC!:yep:

It came out sooooo good! Do you think you could swim with these in, (I'm talking more like splashing in the water)? I need a vacation hairstyle. And a HUGE thanks for posting those links I am off to check it out.

Toooo cute. Love your hair. You ladies inspire me. I wish I would have found you years ago when I wanted to go natural. I always thought that I was so limited with natural hair but you ladies bring the majic everytime. I wanted to do the crochet braids a few weeks ago but then I watched a few vidoes on You Tube. The ladies tied knots and double knots in the extensions to secure them. That made me change my mind. With your attached tutorial, I see how it really should be done. Thank you. I think you said it but what kind of hair did you use? What color and waht length?

Wow! THey look great! I think I'll try some on myself soon...if they come out like yours, I'll be more than happy.

One question: Did you cut the hair in half? I really really like the length of yours (vs. the shoulder length styles I see a lot of youtube). It seems like the hair right out of the pack would be too long, but cutting it in half, would be too short.

pretty! I'd been waiting for you to make up your mind on what style to wear and the pictures of the style. I like it. Thanks for sharing!

I plan on doing chocolatetresses scalp cleansing regimen

Also...I would never have the issue of loosening braids...my hair is super tightly coily if water touches my braids all they'll do is shrink...but they'll never loosen on their own lol

Wow thats a good one....I have no idea this is my first install of crochet braids.

However I just came up with an idea for you, if you wanted to try swimming with it...maybe you could tie a piece of string in a knot over each knot of the hair as you went along to make it extra secure and cut the excess string to keep it camoflaged....then when you get outta the water you could rinse it then add more gel to keep the frizzes away? But most people say keep water away from syntetic hair so yea:ohwell:....maybe you try that with human!:yep:

I get that alot lol thanks hun:kiss: I'm more then glad to display the true versatility of natural hair:love2:

Yea I wasnt a fan of the double knot either. I used the FreeTress Water Wave hair and it only comes in one length....you have to adjust it to the length you want...I wanted it longer so I cut it in half and folded the hair 1/4th of the way down....so that once side was MBL like I wanted it and the other side was a sort piece...and I crocheted it in like that:yep:

Thanks! I actually did....right out the pack was too long...I cut it in half and instead of folding it in half...I folded one side 1/4 of the way down so that one side was the length I wanted and crocheted in in like that....it gave me a cool layered look.

You and me both! My pleasure.

Those are some delicious looking curls.:lick: I'm glad you left them longer a little longer, they look great on you. Good job.

Great job! The color looks good on you!

ETA: I'm pretty sure this will be my next style after I take my singles down in March. Thanks for the inspiration!

Me too girl! I just need to find some human hair to do it with, so I can wash.

Anyone think it'd be possible to cut bohyme braz off the weft and then crochet it in?

That is so pretty. You are great are cornrowing. I couldn't braid to save my life. LOL. Anyway, the brown color suits you.

Aww its so pretty, the style fits you really well.
P.S. I have been waiting for a fotki from you since like.... EVER!!! Thank you! Lol

You really did a great job. My mom used to do crochet braids in the 90s...Im thinking maybe she can hook me up now lol

This came out so pretty! I was a bit scared when I started reading about the different colors, but it came out beautifully. I've watched caught a few videos & I have almost convinced myself that I can do it. I can do cornrows on my daughter but I find them hard to do on myself. I may just get my friend to do my cornrows.

Question, is it true that any type of hair can be used? I watched a yt video where human track hair was used & she just trimmed it from the weft. Do you think that would be ok?
