SILK ELEMENTS

Has anyone tried Silk Elements.

I self-relaxed yesterday w/ Silk Elements, and I must say it turned out really nice. I did my head, and 2 of my daughters. I will do my son's texturizer tonight and my oldest daughters relaxers in a couple of weeks before school starts. She is so picky. But anyway all of our hair turned out very nice.:yep:

My question is, how long will it lasts? I need some reviews for this relaxer, like likes and dislikes....lil late but still... Im so silly I always ask the clerk what other customers say about a product and they just look at me crazy. Am I the only one who does this :ohwell:

I can usually stretch my relaxers about 20+ weeks. I am hoping to stretch this long w/ Silk.

Oh and a couple of weeks ago I applied my first Henna/Indigo and my hair has been so glossy ever since. From what I read it was okay to relax afterwards. Three days ago i did an Aphogee treatment and followed up the relaxer w/ Aphogee 2 min Reconstructor. I can't stay out of the mirror looks and feels so nice.

TIA ladies...

my last touch-up i used silk elements and i love it.
my hair turned out soo nice and silky.
how long will it last?... well, as long as any other relaxer imo.

I just used Silk Elements after using Soft n Beautiful for over a year and I really liked it!

It processes faster and doesn't burn as much as the other.

it is definitely lasting for me and my hair feels stronger.

I did a poor job on the top of my head (was switching up my routine for that part of my head and I just need more practice). So that hair is kind of texlaxed but I'm sure I'll do it better next time.

I added neutral protein filler (from Sallys) and olive oil to my relaxer and I'm hooked on this combo.

It is my new relaxer !

Oh yeah, I'm 4a kinky, very thick and kind of course

OMG...interesting you say that. I bought the protein filler, but I was unsure of how it works or its use so I didn't use it. I heard its good to use in the relaxer...but need more info on it. I forgot to add oil to the relaxer, my kids were working my nerves to cater to their every need so my time was limited....I need a mini-vacation (sorry got side tracked there):lachen:

What is it for exactly?

So far this relaxer is great. My youngest daughter 11yo, who's has very very thick long hair was not well. She is our little black barbie/drama queen, she was SWANGIN her silkiness all night.:lachen:

Thanks for the reply.

Your hair is gawgous....yeah I usually stretch til my ancestors are telling me to relax..seriously:grin:. So we'll c, this may be my NEW staple relaxer. Can't afford the salon trips.

I like the relaxer alot. I have used it in the past and will probably use it again. The line is very good.

This is the only relaxer I use now. I have been using it for about 3 years and I am very satisfied with it. I used motions for a while and hated it :nono:. Then I started going to the salon and used Mizani there. I could no longer afford the visits and someone suggested SE and I have gone without it since.

I relax every 6-8 weeks sometimes longer. My hair doesn't revert as fast as it did with Motions :lachen:.

I've used SE regular for 2 yrs and I love it:yep: I also use the mega Cholesterol and hair mayo will great success. The price is right and they do a really good job.

Thank you ladies for the responses

I am glad to hear the positive feedback...especially the timeframe for reversion. I was tempted to go back to a box perm...Just for Me for me and my girls, but this sounds like a good one. Thank you.

I had a horrible experience with this relaxer. I did everything right I based, didn't scratch. So I'm applying the relaxer and in 2 minutes it started burning so I started to hurry so that I could finish my head. It became unbearable so I just had to rinse it out. I've never burned with any relaxer. It didn't straighten and after I washed it it looked like I never had a relaxer. I still had some leftover relaxer and I told my mom it burned me and she said that she doesn't burn easily so she would use the rest for her touchup. It burned her too:rolleyes:. She said what kind of relaxer is that so I make sure I don't pick it up:grin:. I only used it because some ladies raved about it on here. I think it also broke my nape off because that is where I started and where it was left on the longest. Now I use Mizani Butter Blends:yep:

I remember your thread about using the protein filler...so you added it to the relaxer? What does it do? I'm very interested.

BTW, I looooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeee Silk Elements Relaxer! I ill never switch to another.

hmmmm.. I didn't notice any burning, but my daughter did. We washed it out w/ 5 mins remaining. So I was able to smooth it okay. As for my other daughter no burning, but it got her hair bone straight, didn't like that so much. However I did part the hair before I started and put grease on the scalp so that may have helped us...don't know.

With all the knowledge on here, I have learned to hopefully correct or damage control problems.

Thanks for replying, something to look for. I hope no breakage occurs.

I added a capful and from what I've read on the forum it's supposed to help replace the protein to the hair that is being relaxed (as its natural protein is being stripped from it).

My hair felt way stronger. And the added olive oil helped my ng not be so stripped in the process.

Even though I underprocessed a bit on the top (completely my fault) and burned a little (I was scratching like a monkey two days b/f b/c I thought I wasn't going to relax that weekend), I am very happy with my results. And this is my new relaxer!

PS Neutral protein filler cost like $1.50 at Sallys. A whole little bottle has to last you like 6 uses at least. It's a very good buy!
