Silk Elements Was Good While It Lasted!!!

I've been thinking about using SE mild next time with a petroleum base. But after hearing this maybe I'll stick with the regular and Add the thicker base? Keep us posted. I'm only 3 weeks post so it will be a while b4 I do anything.

Thx

I was thinking the same thing when I put the mild on. I could tell that it was very gentle. The texture of the relaxer is light and fluffy. It doesn't feel like a relaxer to me. lol I put it in a squeeze bottle and followed my newgrowth through every section and then smoothed it in. There was no burning and my hair was so slick from the conditioner and basing that I couldn't tell if my hair was getting straight. I rinsed it out because it had been about 20 mins...maybe a little more. I do have to say that it seems to be a gentle relaxer and probably very good for keeping my hair healthy. I'll keep you posted IF big IF I end up doing a corrective in 3 or 4 weeks. I hope I won't have to. I will henna on Sunday so at least my hair will be strong if I do have to touch up the relaxer a little early.

. I try SE Mild for the corrective, if I have to, and if it doesn't do the do then I'll go back to old faithful - Designer's Touch Mild. No one ever talks about that relaxer on the boards...hmmm...new thread time.:lachen:
Girl that realxer was knockin but it couldn't get in! LOL

The TCB Naturals no-lye w/ olive oil, aloe and henna sounds interesting. I think i'm going to research this one. For those that have used this is it gentle?

For me it it. I am a thick 4ABCDEFG... head, though. I have trouble with underprocessing with other relaxers.

But, with it you leave in on for 20 and 30 min. like some people do (according to the poll we had once). You have to stick with the time limits on the instructions.

It does not leave me wondering and guessing, though. I can tell before I rinse that my hair is straight, unlike the times I have tried others.

Oh, by the way - the TCB Naturals with olive oil, aloe and henna is NOT in the relaxer cream. They need to stop that lie. It is really in the conditioner that is included.

But, the conditioner is REALLY nice. Like I said, back in the day they used to sell full size bottles of the conditioner. I think they discontinued it. That was some good stuff.

I use follow the directions by applying the conditioner AFTER rinsing out the shampoo, but because I love that conditioner so much, I:

1.Rinse relaxer
2.Apply another protein conditioner (like Aphogee Keratin or something)
3.Use the neutralizing shampoo that came with the kit (it also seems to be clarifying to me)
4.THEN I use the yummy conditioner that comes in the kit.

It is not hardly enough in that jat for a heavy headed gal like me.

Also, there is a LOT of relaxer cream in the original one. That maybe why they came out with the value size one. I actually split it in half because I waste so much of it otherwise.

I've heard good things about ORS. But also consider profectiv. I use it to texlax myself, but I also use it to make my mom's hair practically bone straight and my sister and cousins hair in between both of those extremes. I never base or burn.

At the BBS I read the ingrediants and they looked great! I posted another thread asking about it from other members and I've gotten nothing but negiatives but no specifics, like what did they use before, what was the exact problem, execept one person said it made their hair really dry.

I'm so confused...I want to make a good decision and stick with it. This is rather difficult.
