I moved to NJ about 2 years ago and have always passed this Dominican salon in the downtown area of my town. Anyway, I decided to try them last week. They did a good job as I only got a wash and set. I went back today because it would be officially one week and today is their late night. Well, two things pissed me off, first, the woman tried to charge me more for length (my hair is short) which did not make any sense especially since I cut my hair shorter after I left the salon last week. The second thing was that they tried to put a new jack on me to do my roller set. The new jack was obvious because although she was speaking in Spanish it looked like she was telling the head chick that she was nervous. I then asked the head chick “Does she know what she is doing, has she done roller sets before?” the head chick says “Yes”
Me: Oh okay
Head chick: But you can get someone else if you want
Me: But you said she has done them before so it is cool
Head chick: Yeah but if you want someone else to do it than that’s okay
Me: If she is good, then I am cool, but I do not want to be the test case because I will be upset if it does not come out nice
Head chick: She knows how to do it but not perfect
Me: well I do not want her to do it
I then waited for the other woman who head chick told to do me.
I may be overreacting but why let her practice on a customer if she is not good. I would have never guessed she was a new jack if she was not all antsy. However, I was annoyed. Should I just shut the hell up with my annoyance and continue going there?
My hair came out nice by the way. I only got wash and set again.

, even though you almost got the newbie, I appreciate the lady telling you it wouldn't come out perfect, most people would not have told you that.
