I am trying not to insult anyone, but just read the responses and all... its just too silly. You come on a site that is supposed to dispel that type of thinking just to say things like this?

Being mixed race does not make it her real hair. The girl is wearing a weave, possibly a sew in in the back or whatever you do. Having light skin and a caucasian grandpa and this and that does not mean that if she suddenly has WL hair after being SL it is all natural.

And the comment about her mother's hair being pretty "even if it is dreadlocs".... :look:.

I know. :clapping: I read this entire thread and I must say that most of these responses are disappointing and quite disturbing. This is the Long Hair Care Forum with women who are supposed to be more enlightened about these kinds of things. And the implication that 'nappy' is bad? Or, 'nappy' doesn't include Type 3, incredibly curly hair like choconillaprincess? :nono:

I'm very disappointed in LHCF right now.

BTW, Lenny Kravitz' mother was Roxy Roker, "Helen" on "The Jeffersons." She passed away from cancer. His father was white and Jewish. Lisa's mother is white and Jewish and a black father. Zoie is not biracial as someone stated.

Why do you feel bad for Zoe? Shes very pretty but some of us probably think shes cuter that she thinks of herself. I think most people, particularly people in the spotlight know that not everyone thinks they're drop dead gorgeous which is why some celebs choose not to read tabloids, entertainment magazines, or internet gossip sites.

From your avatar, your pic looks really pretty, but Im shocked that you wouldnt expect at least one person in the world to find you average. I think I'm gorgeous and so does my DH, but when I walk out of my house, cars dont pile up into 20 car collision because everyone is peepin me. Men do approach at times, women do compliment me, but when I walk in a room, I do not expect EVERYONE to think that Im drop dead gorgeous, though some will. I thought that almost everyone has liked someone who didnt like them back for some reason:look:. Maybe Im wrong though.

This is funny. I think that some women find it difficult to accept that perceptions of beauty vary. For instance, many people find Whitney Houston to be beautiful. I don't find her very attractive at all. Never have. It's interesting because I think that some people here would accept my opinion. But if I were to state that I think Beyonce is just average and that there are women on this forum who are much more attractive than she, I would be called a hater. :nono::nono::nono: And still, some people--including myself--don't find Zoie to be all that attractive. I am becoming convinced that at some subconcious level that color plays *some* role with these attitudes.:ohwell: This is my opinion, but why is it that some celebrities are placed on a pedestal and no one dare say anything remotely critical of them and yet others are not? It's just interesting.

Some responses are very interesting. But you know what, sometimes we get sheltered by the PC ideas on the hair board. It appears we are more enlightened than the real world, but I think a lot of people hold back opinions that may be unpopular. A lot of people still buy into good hair vs bad hair. :perplexedJMHO.

Really? Why not? If both of Zoe's parents are biracial, which they are, isn't she then biracial? Race is a genetic distintion, and she is made up of 2 races, black and white. "Jewish" is not a race.

Does anyone know how to delete threads? :ohwell:

This should have died yesterday morning. :look:

Lets talk about something we all love, our own hair....yes? :yep:

Yeah, I'm starting to see this too. Sad.:nono:

 What drama? You probably haven't had a chance to experience the OT forum yet. You're new, but I'm sure you'll get used to LHCF pretty soon!

Could be true, but they tried to eat me alive for expressing my opinion that Jill Marie Jones is not that attractive to me---- and she is what's considered dark-skinned. I think it is an overall theme that if you don't agree with the masses, something is wrong with you, you're a hater, you should die.

Thats my thinking too. Both of her parents are mixed so she is considered mixed as well, she's half white and black too wouldn't she be?

Thank you! I wouldn't even have made a comment on her "beauty" if not for the multiple posts about it. I just posted that I disagreed because I just wasn't seeing it, that's all. I fail to see why it's a big deal.

ITA: Exactly..everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I agree with this also. You dont agree=hateration:ohwell:. sad

Get over it... You haven't even seen drama on this board yet.. I am guessing you never read my LOCKED thread on the media hating dark children:look: now that was some real drama. Or the wave of Shima threads that came out a couple of months ago. Or the locked Abortion thread--- I wasn't even here for that one but I read it and was like OMFG! This is just a discussion that hasn't even fully heated yet compared to what I have seen on this site...

You should just relax, you can't control opinions and you can't monitor what people say before or after they say it. If you agree, just state it, but if you disagree, you can say so too. But don't dog somebody for having an opinion, especially if we don't do that to you. Nobody is taking this thread worse than you are, and honestly you're overreacting about our responses to it. You can't just ask to delete a thread just because you don't like the responses.

Zoe is lovely. Much prettier than Lisa was at that age, IMO.

Now, off to read what caused this thread to be 17 pages!

Oh yea, and I don't think the girl is cute. Lenny Kravitz is sexy. I mean have you seen that man's booty? I'd hit that even though he is 2x my age.

***But this is why I think Zoe is cute... but not BEAUTIFUL (and by beautiful, I don't mean on the inside, but the outside, in a superficial sort of way, you know?). And by not beautiful, I mean I've seen better. Yea. I said it:

I love skinny people, I'm a size 4 and would LOVE to be a size 2 for a while (but not forever, just to fit some cute outfits I was thinking about and then go back to the 4), so I am guessing she has that going for her. But then again her body could have more of a shape to it... so nvm.

And she has beautiful eyes, but I hate how she is always squinting them... or are they just like that?:look: But she looks kind of sickly and pale in my opinion, maybe if she got a tan I would be more attracted. And let's be honest. The girl has too much forehead... that's what really threw me off. Just like Tyra Banks... I love her, but when she whips that forehead out I just cant take it anymore! Not to mention I don't think her lips suit her face.

So yea... that is MY OPINION... Personally I find women who look like Angelina Jolie or Halle Berry or Barbara Mori to be attractive.

That actually a good question. 2 biracial parents who have a child. Would that child also be biracial? I know that "Jewish" is not a race and didn't state that it was. But this is a question that I would like to do more research on: is Zoe biracial simply because her parents are biracial?

Opinions are like a-holes aren't they. Someone stated her opinion that Zoe is more beautiful than Lisa was in her prime. I disagree. I think Lisa Bonet is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen, particularly her eyes. And Lenny....YUM, YUM!!!!!!:lick::lick::lick::lick:

She is a beautiful girl, and she has nice hair in general but she is clearly wearing extentions. Nuthin wrong with that...her hair is nice, and her extentions blend well.

yep everyones got em (dances to Salt N Pepa)

but yea... I didnt realize who Lisa Bonet was (I know who she is, just didn't put two and two together and realize that was her name, who yall were talkin about) and yea... She looks better than her daughter at that age back in the day...

But after looking them up on Google I do think its funny poor Zoe's parents have all these naked pics on the internet...

You didn't state that it was a race. I assumed that was what you were implying in this statement you made.
His father was white and Jewish. Lisa's mother is white and Jewish and a black father

I was going to say this too but I said I would keep my mouth shut.

Don't keep your mouth shut because I want to know. I thought that biracial simply meant that one parent is of one race and the other parent is of another race. That's not the case here. Each of her parents is biracial, but what would that make her? Wouldn't that make Zoe not 1/2 but something like 1/4 or 1/8? Again, I'm not sure how biology works here. Or, maybe she *is* biracial because 1/2 and 1/2 equals a whole of one race and a whole of the other??!???!!???! This is interesting...

Lenny is 1/2 white, 1/2 black
Lisa is 1/2 white, 1/2 black

Zoe takes 1/2 of Lenny's genes = 1/4 white, 1/4 black
she also takes 1/2 of Lisa's genes = 1/4 white, 1/4 black
Add the 1/4 white(from Lenny) 1/4 white (from Lisa)= 1/2 white
Add the 1/4 black(from Lenny) 1/4 black(from Lisa)= 1/2 black

That's how it makes sense to me. I know someone more knowledgable on the subject is going to come in here and blow my answer outta the water.....I am waiting..

simple math. and a little biology.. not so simple afterall though:

1/2 white + 1/2 black = 1 biracial person

you get 100% of both of your parents (sperm and an egg each have 23 chromosomes so together that is the 46 that make a zygote, which will be the baby... blah blah biology blah bah) & you end up with all of what they are

two white people make a white person
a black and a mexican make a biracial person
an irish person and an african & asian person will make a multiracial kid
two biracial people (who are each the same 2 races)... make a biracial person. you didnt add two races into the mix (or subtract any either) so she is still just as much black as she is white.

think of it like crayons: red and yellow make orange
orange and orange make... orange. Still just as much red in there as there is yellow, no more no less. that is why a lot of creole people look biracial... you have a bunch of white french & black people having children, then their biracial children mix with other biracial (french & black) children... so overtime you have a group of "black" people who have lighter skin and hair with a looser texture and "look mixed" or "look white" like Beyonce's momma.

i'm sorry i have to jump in & say their is still a lot of ignorance out there even tho we've been so educated on this site...

It's true not all biracial individuals don't have loose wavy hair & whatnot i am clearly proof of that but lenny's hair is beautiful so why would you say look @ her father's hair?

Also let's be honest w/ ourselves anyone can see this girl is very beautiful if you think otherwise you're probably just hating

It doesn't really matter if it's a weave or not because it looks good & it looks good on her & what's wrong with seeing her as an inspiration? she's in the spotlite so she's not the first one to sport a weave

Honestly it really p*sses me off when people throw these biracial hair misconceptions around... biracial people come in so many shapes, sizes, colors, hair types/lengths, just like black people... i don't have loose wavy hair or blue/green eyes... I have BEAUTIFUL nappy hair & so does lenny

Um, not true. I have no problem saying someone's beautiful but I don't think she's ugly but not beautiful.

O.K., I'm having a true blonde moment! You're right. It's simple math. Now, if Zoe were to marry a white man and have a child with him, that child would be 3/4 white or 1/4 black. I got it! Sometimes it takes me a minute on these types of things...:lachen:

And the saddest thing: both my parents are in the medical field!!

WOW...this is offensive. No one has personally attacked me. And I have not personally attacked anyone but you just took it to another level. I just didnt expect this thread to generate this kind of attention. I dont care what anyone thinks or whether they think the girl is drop dead gorgeous or butt ugly. I dont care about what anyone think about her skin, hair, parents, etc.... I just wanted to show the girl to the board. I feel bad for her in a sense that if this was about me I would be offended by SOME of the things said but thats it.

I didnt attack you for having an opinion so why attack me for stating that I wish the discussion to stop? Its how I feel. Like everyone else wants to throw around, "I PAID MY $5 TOO!"

You may have another offensive remark to state. I wont be back on this side anymore so do what you do.

I honestly thought this board was somewhere I could come and be supported and enlightened by Black Women all the time because there is so little of it outside of LHCF. I was naive'. Same people in the world are the same people here. I understand now.

Get over it... You haven't even seen drama on this board yet.. I am guessing you never read my LOCKED thread on the media hating dark children:look: now that was some real drama. What is Jewish then if it's not a race? Is it a heritage?:spinning:

Jewish is both a religion and heritage.

Ok, can we close this thread now? This is stupid. Zoe is pretty and she wears a weave. End of story. Oh, I forget.....she's also biracial:rolleyes:

BTW, Bubs, your hair is so purty and long!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you biracial?:drunk:
