I just posted a review HERE on it. I love this product. I'd never call it a leave-in conditioner though. It's definitely a styling lotion in my mind. I do feel it moisturizes slightly better than MC though.
Funny, because I was just looking at my MC bottle and thinking the same thing: This is more a styling lotion, not a leave-in conditioner. I used this last wash day. Both MS and MC shave off about 4 hours of drying time for me (air dry) just one of the reasons why I like the products.
This just in:
one of the most beloved haircare lines for naturally curly women and kids, Mixed Chicks, just filed suit against Sally Beauty Supply. The reason? Mixed Chicks is claiming that the mega beauty chain’s new hair line, Mixed Silk, is infringing on the their trademark. They’re also alleging that Sally Beauty Supply is using the Mixed Chicks logo on its website to direct consumers to their infringing products…
Mixed Chicks Co-Founder Kim Etheredge has this to say: “We’ve worked hard to build the reputation of the Mixed Chicks product as one of high quality. We want our clients to know that the Mixed Silk products have no connection with our products, and Mixed Chicks has not endorsed or authorized them.” We’re fans of both Mixed Chicks and Sally Beauty Supply, and hope that they reach an agreement soon!
Okay. So if anyone has extra bottles of the leave in or deep conditioner they want to sell...um let me know.
I'm using the Mixed Chicks leave-in and the As I am (from Sally's) leave in to find something new since I'm bout of the Mixed Silk leave-in. Neither one of them compare on my hair. Plus this As I Am leave-in is turning my hair white.
I really hope Sally's does what they need to do to get the products back on the shelf.
ETA: If anyone has any recommendations for something similar let me know. My hair needs it!
PrincessKia As I Am is a "leave-in" and not a styler, that's probably why it isn't working.
Mixed Silk, though called a Leave-In Conditioning Creme, is a styler, with some holding properties, that defines curls. So that would explain why "As I Am " isn't working for you, it just boosts shine and prepares your hair for styling.
Mixed Chicks is much like Mixed Silk, a product to leave-in but with holding, styler properties. Seems like it should work if Mixed Silk worked. Potion 9 by Sebastian reminds me of both these products. It's labeled as a "treatment" but has the texture and the holding and styling properties and creates definition. I like this product for holding and defining my curls and it's knock off "Leave-in treatment" by GVP at Sally's is just as good. It's about 6.99. You might want to give this a try.
