Roller Setters - What's In Your Spray Bottle

You're exactly right.

This is the order that I apply my leave in's:
1. Green Grape Leave-In Condish by Shescentit
2. Kera Care Wrap Foam
3. Serum, usually Chi silk infusion or Nuetrogena Triple Moisture Serum

Then I have cold spring water from the fridge in my water bottle, I mist each section before rolling. The cold water seals the cuticle and I get my silkiest, shiniest sets when my hair is soaking wet. :yep:

I'm going to try the the cold water in the fridge thing!

My final rinse is always with cold water, but I never thought to place my spray bottle in the fridge to keep the water cold.

good idea! :yep:

Hey Ladies,

I researched spray bottle mixes and I know a million replies but this is specific for roller sets. I am reachin APL its getting ready to get cold and want to try roller setting weekly instead of cowashing/bunning daily, but am confused as to what to use and what ratio.

I hear rave reviews about Lacio Lacio but I don't know what ratio :look: *that rhymed* of product to water to use.

Can you help~ :ohwell:

Thanks:yep:

I use mousse...it's easier for me to deal with....I'm actually under the dryer now so when I come out I can tell you which kind...I know I won't spell it right if I try typing without looking

The smallest size at every BSS--probably about 4-6 ounces. The mixture is grayish. I learned it from the ladies at my DS, they call it their "doobie spray." If I run out of Lacio Lacio, I use Salerm 21 the same way.

Thanks~ Doobie Spray is so cute~ :lachen:

i looooooooovve the shine that laico laico gave on my last set but there is nothing if value in the ingredients i also love giavanni direct leave in with a drop of serum (the less products the faster your hair will dry!) soooooooooo i will put in a dime size if both next time sans the serum since the laico laico gives great shine.laico laico is FULL of cones so does it block moisture after the set???

I have yet to do a rollerset that I'm pleased with, so I'm paying close attention to this thread.

Do these methods work on transitioning hair?

Just yesterday did the first successful roller set in my life. I used Lacio Lacio leave in and had spring water in my spray bottle. I never even used the bottle because my hair was sopping wet when I applied the Lacio Lacio and stayed wet enough the whole time. I followed Macherieamour's directions and got perfect results.

OT - I didn't blow out or flatiron my NG, but last night I applied my MT to my scalp and the roots laid down SO nice and soft :yep:

I can't wait to try. My products should be here this week. I am 10 weeks post with mad new growth. I told the girl I was gonna wait to try roller setting when I relaxed *in 4 weeks* she said not to wait I would be more than pleased with the results now, so imagine what it would do to a fresh relaxed head:yep:. LAWD I'm beside myself

I would think that would depend on how often you use it. I was concerned about that also, I clarify once a month and plan on rollersetting once a week so it shouldn't be to bad. I will keep an eye out. I love NTM Silk Touch Leave in and that has cones in it I have no problem. Not sure if they are the same type cones, I understand that some are more water soluable. We'll see.

when I was relaxed, i used Lottabody. In my avatar, i rolled my twists with olive oil and water. I haven't done a true rollerset since i've been natural/texlaxed.

Bumping!

I'm still looking for the right combo.

Oh my~ I started this thread over a year ago :look: I love rollersetting!

What I found that works is good old fashion water in the spray bottle! After I deep condition I put Lacio Lacio on my hair *about a nickle/quarter size*. Then as I get ready to roll I make sure the hair very damp *just before dripping* with water :yep: Curls come out FABULOUS!!! I have pics in my fotki.
