My regimen was so unpredictible.
Up until about 6th grade my mother did my hair.
Seventh grade if I didn't get my hair done (every two weeks) I would wash my hair with shampoo (I was natural), blow dry it, press it out then flatiron. Then curl the ends. If it didn't look right, I washed it over again.
In eighth grade I got a relaxer. I would still get my hair done every other week but on the off week, I would wash and wet wrap with some type of foam with a rat tail comb, and flat iron and curl the ends under. If there was new growth I would press my edges with my GOLD N HOT pressing comb. OH yea, I wanted my hair colored, so I put a bottle of HYDROGEN PEROXIDE on it and it turned brownish/orange. I loved it.
In high school I started getting my hair done every week. I would get updos that consisted of a LOAD of proclaim brown gel which would secure my own hair into this ball and a pinned weave ponytail that was crimped or curled to perfection and sprayed with PUMP IT UP Spritz (the pink and white bottle). When It got soft midweek, I would spray finisheen (red bottle) on it and retouch with proclaim or JAM gel.
In 12th grade my hair fell out. I cut it (like a TBoz hair cut) and started getting rollersets on the front part every week.
When I went off to college in 2004 I found this website of this lady who had an LHCF type regimen and I had to pay 20.00 to print off her haircare tips. Well I only read the part about cowashes and did cowashes for like 3 weeks straight with nothing else, and my hair got so mushy and elastic I started panicking (knew nothing about protein/moisture balance). So I just went back to my regular, wash, finally started using conditioner sometimes, and flatiron. My hair fell out twice due to hairdressers in college as well (overprocessed relaxers, someone didn't wash the relaxer out good or neutralize).
THANK GOD I FOUND LHCF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
