Okay so I recently moved to this really dry place. And I am already a frequent co washer, but I still shampoo once a week. How do you no poo? Do you only cowash, have you experienced build up?

i tried. even tried using silicone-free conditioners for cowashing. i still got buildup. and i don't know, maybe it was mental, but baking soda and bentonite clay didn't seem to cut it. instead, i started using a much gentler shampoo - giovanni smooth as silk shampoo, every 7-10 days. and my hair and i have been happy ever since

I use the WEN system. And I haven't experience build up yet. But I make sure I use ACV about once every 2 months or so.

I rinse well and cowash only unless I am using a product with cones or something. I don't have a problem with buildup. I find rinsing well is the key. I also henna often and only cowash after but I think this helps my scalp/hair stay clean too.

I cowash only, so I avoid using anything unnatural in my hair, especially products that have cones or xanes. I also avoid adding anything to my scalp. I rinse my hair and scalp very well in small sections taking care to thoroughly massage my scalp before I begin the actual cowash. For my cowash, I've been using the kia fizzle, you know adding salt to my condish. I apply it, put on my shower cap, shower, then rinse my hair again thoroughly. When I'm done, I apply AO white camelia as a leave in + humectants ( you may want to avoid humectants in your climate). I hope that helps!

I co wash all week long and use Hair One (conditioner cleansing system) .Its Sallys version of Wen...Its basically a conditioner that cleans the hair and scalp like shampoo without the suds....I have been doing that for months now ...I needed to clarify the first in months this week ...

Because of Hair One I can skip the suds

I don't co-wash anymore. I wash my hair once a week with a castile soap mix that I got from Traycee:
2 oz dr. bronners castile soap, 2oz oil of choice (i like olicoco oil which is just 50/50 olive oil and coconut oil), and 14 oz water. Mix all in a 16 oz applicator bottle.

Shake before use, apply to scalp and massage it in. Cleanses my scalp and hair without stripping any moisture one bit.

I don't use poo, but if my scalp needs cleansing I use shikakai or shea based bars.
