Question for pure glycerine users

Do you notice a change in consistency to your glycerin after a while ? Do you referigerate your water/glycerin mixture? I am just curious as to why preservatives are added to curl activators if this is not the case. I just bought mine and want to know what to expect. TIA

i mix mine with rosewayer for a lite mist... it lasts for a long time and makes my hair much easier to comb.

There has been no change to the bottle that I have had for many months now. I think that I bought it about 6 months ago. I do not refrigerate it.
