I was going to recommend sisterlocs too. I think they are so pretty and so versatile. I understand that you want to do it yourself, but make sure you look into all options. This is a pretty permanent decision. (I only say this because I knew a girl in school who wished she would have done the sisterlocs, but she wasn't willing to cut her locs to start over.)

Nonie-I didn't know you could unravel locs! Does anyone have pics of someone who's done this before? How long does it take to do?? I thought locs were permanent....
 
Congrats on your decision. My bestest friend locked 2 years ago and I swear her hair is longer than it has ever been since I have known her....11 years!!! It looks wonderful on her and I am sure that you are going to look just as gorgeous!!!

Don't worry, I have considered all my options. I can't afford sisterlocs. See, in contrast to the girl you knew in school, I am someone who is willing to cut all my locs off once I get tired of them. ;)
 
Good luck Poohbear, I just love it when someone is excited and happy about their hair. Your hair has grown so beautifully and I think you are going to be so pretty with locs and I think your life in general will get easier too, enjoy yourself, I will be waiting for all of the wonderful updates.
 
Good Luck.. I actually like the twist that the locitian did.. I like yours as well. I think comb twist look neater in the long run.. Anyway I wish you luck and the twist look cute on u.
 
Good luck Pooh....and I betchya get your long hair soon. My mum has waist length locks :yep:. They are low maintainance, and she keeps them so neat that people sometime thinks she has braids:)

Good luck to you Pooh. Funny I was just thinking this myself. I just came out of braids (after being in a month) and the thought of locs crossed my mind. I dont think Im ready for that yet, so I just cut about 3inches off and decided to start a no heat cahllenge. Im sure you will look fabulous with locs.:yep:
 
You did a good job with those twist! Your hair will grow so fast now...no manipulation.

I used to maintain my cousin's locs, but they were done different. Good for him, because I can't do twists.:lol:

Good luck with the starting process but your twists look great right now.

I'm wondering if you would consider getting extension locks first to see if you like the look?

No, I haven't considered getting extensions locs. I don't like wearing fake hair, maybe that's why. Plus, I've already made my decision to loc my natural hair...I first started considering locs back in February (I was going through the "yes, no, yes, no" routine like Crown). So I'm no longer contemplating the idea of getting locs...I am now going for it. ;)
