A LOT has happened between then in now...I think these last two years (especially this year) is when I finally got to a point of trully knowing and understanding my hair. I've lgrasped the concept of less is more, what products give me the finishing results I like, and how not pulling my hair back as much in puffs and buns allowed my natural texture to recover in the front/top part of my hair. My hair is flourishing at this stage FINALLY...it took some years in my natural journey to get here but I made. I'm currently BSL and looking to reach at least MBL stretched by end of 2014.
1- January 2009 - the day I found LHCF.
2- October 2009 - APL
3- December 2010 - postpartum shedding
4- December 2010 - Big chop
5- October 2013 - APL (neglected my hair for 2 years but I'm ready for BSL!)
You have some thick beautiful hair.

these are the pictures of my progress over the past 3 years.
1st photo is my big chop July 2010 to 10 months later, May 2011
2nd photo is 10 months progression from May 2011 to February 2012
3rd photo is around April/May 2012 I believe
and last photo is my most recent length check September 2013, right now grazing BSL
What worked for me was mostly moisturizing, I have very fine strands and low density yet I love heavy butters and oil like castor, it helps keep my hair soft, moisturized and cooperative. I love my DC, HOT, and protective styles, I wore mainly finger coils when i first chopped, then two strand twists, pin up styles when my hair got longer and now I love my buns. Also every winter I do a 6 month ps kick, with either braids, havana twists, wigs or recently weaves. I have used henna in the past and i really loved it, but i got lazy and i think the protein dried my hair out so I had to cut the henna out last december. Can't believe I'm so close to BSL, never had hair this long in my life, looking forward to WL and beyond now!
Here's some 16" I glued in for the weekend. I'll use this length for my next sew in.
Use this to glue the tracks to your hair. I only keep that in for a few days because it can be damaging.
Trini_Chutney, Would you please share a tutorial on how you got your twistout ringlet all the way to the tips like the pic below?
@abioni I just twist to about the last half inch of hair and then twirl the rest around my finger to make a spiral curl. When it dries the spirals are there. I twist with a gel or curly pudding over a leave in.

Oh OK. So your hair's still fine then? Hair glue makes me nervous.
