I read a recent thread with one of us asking who would relax her hair. But no reply. I am getting worried about relaxing my hair now as I do not want to reverse all the good work I have done since August.
So please and please, do you know any good hairdressers I can go to that you have tried yourself.
All comments and suggestions welcome.
Merci

I used to relax at Hairy Taj on rue Quincampoix. He (Taj) does a great job - he nursed my over-processed hair back to health.

I never went myself. I heard he's a good hairstylist but always late and the salon is verrrry dirty.

The reason why I started transitionning was because I couldn't find a good and affordable hairstylist in Paris. :perplexed

Hi girl :)
When I do not relax at home, I go to my fabulous hair salon > DS creation.
The stylist there are very qualified ; By the way, you can see their creation in "Miss ébène".
They relax and style your hair for 61 euros but it's worth it ^^ The results are nice

The salon isn't dirty at all and he always dealt with my hair in a timely manner. I have seen some clients come in expecting the impossible though. Oh well. :ohwell:

Thanks miss.tress and Naphy
DS seems more affordable, plus I have the LHCF blessing, hehehe
I will go as soon as I get tired of stretching!
Merci

Hey there! I posted the original thread looking for someone to relax my hair. I went to Ethnicia on Quai Bourbon. They did a fine job--relaxed my hair in four sections. But they only use Mizani products...Ethnicia charges 65 for the relaxer and styling.
Let me know how everything turns out for you. I haven't ever been to Taj, but there is French website where a lot of people recount bad experiences with him but if MissTress has personal experience...
Good luck!!!!!

I think we belong to the same hair board Miss*Tress.:D

On Boucles et cotons there is currently a thread about Hairy Taj and also another one on Black Jewels.
That's where I read girls say that the salon wasn't clean. I wouldn't dare say something like that otherwise, LOL. Especially since I never went there myself.

Interesting...maybe I just never noticed the dirt. :look:

ETA: I had a look at that thread and I do agree with three things:
  1. Hairy Taj is expensive for longish hair. He charged me long hair rates for just past shoulder-length.
  2. The cellar is uncomfortable - it's got low, vaulted ceilings and stone walls.
  3. Garnier Fructis is crap!

Girl, LOL :lachen: You know there are some people who can't live without fructis.
I thought it was crap too, but I heard so many raves about the long and strong condish, I'm just going to try it tonight and see what it does for me.

I know - those are fighting words.

Garnier Fructis was a real disappointment especially after all the rave reviews it gets. Let us know how it works for you.

Before I started my hair journey, I used Garnier Fructis a lot of times. Lots of people were telling me "it's for black hair too, so you can use it".
The results were catastrophic O_O My hair shedded like mad >.< I don't get the rave reviews some people give this thing....
