Just an update for me. I am taking my twist out a week early although I guess I could hold out but I am getting tired of them and want to see my hair again. If my steamer gets here from my mom in time I will do it when it gets here. If she doesnt mail it for another week then oh well. I am so confused.

I am doing what I am suppose to (weekly DCs and keeping it well moisturizd).
I wont be relaxing until the end of the year, giving hair a much needed break. When not in braids I will be doing wigs and DCing under them.\
Looking at where my hair ends in the twist I think I am neck length maybe longer. I will take a pic when I take the braids out and roller set.

I'm almost 12 weeks into my 6 month stretch. I've been spraying my braids and scalp every day with Surge 14 and Worlds of Curls moisturizer. I need to find a condish (I miss my daily cowashes). Also, adding my Ayurvedic oils to my scalp. I really hope I can make SL before June.

I am TRYING TO KEEP IT SIMPLE!

I am cutting out growth aids for now and will be focusing on DCing, rollersetting and braining/twisting ( I will learn to twist and some braiding if it is the last thing I do:perplexed)

I am really enjoying this journey and I can see SL in sight by the end of the year.:yep:

Your progress sounds great! Nice! I hope my progress goes as well as yours is sounding.

ok i need help. i don't know what to do to my hair. right now it's up in a pony. it's cool for around the house, it's not in a tight pony, pretty loose, but if i was to go out, i would need to have my hair done somehow....i just don't know what i should do to it. it need to keep it protected from KC's if *** weather that's for sure. so if y'all have any suggestions, plz chime in. btw...my hair isn't long:grin:

My update. I am still in braids. I took them down for a refresher. The back of my hair is maybe 1/4" past my shoulder...so right now, retention is critical if I am to make Sl by June. I am also MT/OCT'ing 3-4 times a week on my scalp. I am 27 weeks into my stretch and trying really hard to keep my braids in for another month (My sister gets married in March, so I HAVE to get these braids ouuta my head). I do plan on getting either a sew-in or another set of braids in April to keep until June and walaaa! That will be my big reveal!! I hope I make it!!! Good Luck to you all!

Well everything is going well. Last night i wash, used nexxus emer, deep condition, place on a leave in, moist, then seal.

I looking for something to do with this hair well it going through the ugly stage of growing out. front hit lower level of ear and back hit neck. Thinking of a master plan. Im going to hit sl before the year is up if it kills somebody lol lol

i'm just checking in.....after a poo yesterday, i used some crown n glory leave in co and some infusium 23 and ors moisturizing hair lotion. rather than throwing in fresh braides, i went and got a drawstring pony today....i've used some sta-sof-fro to pull my hair up in a soft hold pony and then added the drawstring.

Checking in; did a touch up with ORS no-lye on Sunday at 12 weeks post, didnt seem to have grown much but i may still be on target for SL in June, may put a sew-in, in a few weeks time. Happy Growing ladies!!

Going on 13 weeks post. I have a little over 1/2 inch of NG since I got my braids on 1/18. My scalp is a little sore but I'm trying to keep my braids in for atleast 3 more weeks. I don't plan to relax again until May- maybe later.

I just got a relaxer today after 8 weeks and my hair is touching my shoulders. Yay!!!! Its barely touching but I can still feel it and thats all that matters. I should definitely make full SL by June. Had to share my excitement.

My 6 week relaxer stretch is over. I've been DCing, using BT, WGO, and taking b-complex and chlorella. I washed and DC'd and I took the last progress pic in my siggy just now. But it just dawned on me, should I be measuring dry hair? I have just been doing it after a wash, after I put in all my leave ins and moisturizers. I typically air dry. Would it be easier to see if I waited until it was dry (and flatter/smoother)? Looks like 2 1/2 months equaled 1 3/4 inches. Maybe if I flattened out my ends I could get that last 1/4 inch

Checking in, I have been using ayurvedic powders as pre poo, MT/OCT, DC and leave ins. I'm hoping to get 1/4 inch with the growth aids in Mar I'll do a growth check.

Just checking in, I relaxed after a 12wk. stretch. I'm still doing Ayurveda, I will post a progress shot on the 15th

I've added Chlorella & biotin(again) to my regimen...and this stuff is amazing! instant glow on my face, lots of energy, and i just feel really good overall. I do think my hair is benefiting from it. Its too early to tell and I don't length check frequently. But my body hair seems to be growing in a lot faster. I usually only have to shave once a week but this week I've shaved twice and probably again today.

Finally got a pic. Just got a relaxer and trim on Sunday. My hair has been SUPER dry and crispy lately. And breaking off like crazy across the back. I want it to be healthier and thicker by the end of this challenge. I'm sure I won't make shoulder by the challenge end date in June, but if the back will just fill out from where it has broken off, I will be happy.

My hair isn't uneven, it was really curly when i got it done so it is falling weird. I pinned up the top bc i like my layers and don't really need for them to grow out. Just want that back to fill in and make it to shoulder sometime in 09.

I love how dark your hair is Imani.

LiberianMommi: I'm sure you'll make SL sooner than December. I made it from NL to SL (before transitioning and BCing) in 3-4 months and I have a long neck. lol.

My UpDaTe: I'm still enjoying my straight hair but I'll probably wash it out soon.

I set myself back a little. I got a haircut. I've been growing out my bob and it had lost its shape completely, one side was longer than the other. I prefer style over length so i got it cut. Its only a 1/2 in shorter. It'll grow back. Im loving it!

i believe i will make my goal in the summer. i decided i won't post any pics until then. i am trying to decide about what color i should dye my hair. i think i will just stick with jet black. doesn't fade fast and it is not damaging to my hair.

I wish I could join. I want SL so bad. But my sides are really thin and I need to focus on growing them out first. But I'll be cheering you ladies on!

Dcing right now with Joico K PAK, Suave, mixed with Shikakai, Bhrami, Alma, Horsetail & Nettle. I will finish up with a Fenugreek, Bhringraj tea rinse.

Still in braids for now but I'll be taking them out soon. I've only had them for 7 weeks but I'm starting to get headaches. This usually doesn't happen to me. I'm 14 weeks post relaxer now.

:bump:

How is everyone doing in this challenge?

I haven't taken my braids out yet so I don't have any updates. Still using Surge 14 and WOC moisturizer everyday, cowashing atleast twice a week, and clarifying with Baking Soda once a week.

Me too!
If that's it in your siggy, it looks gooodddd!:yep::yep::yep:

I'm in, I am aiming for SL in July!
My reggie is to wash weekly, with CON(green label) and Biotin Shampoo
I rotate DC with Cholesterol, ORS deep conditioning and DPR-11
I moisturize with MOM African Royal and make a homemade spritz.
I spray Infusium 23
I bun everyday and seal with oil
My growth aid is MT with BT in it.

I flat ironed today so I could be cute for the warm weather, but after I saw the progress(Bottom of NL), I washed my hair back out and I am sitting under the dryer with Cholesterol in it. Bunning is the business. I don't plan on flat-ironing for months.
