i took my son trick or treating last night, and of course everyone is checking out everyone else's costumes (or lack thereof).
it was like every other black girl i saw was at APL! and yes, i was nonchalantly checking to see if it was their real hair or not. most of the time, it was. on the one hand, i say it's a good thing... more black women out there with healthier, longer hair helps dispell those myths that we CAN'T grow our hair. but on the other hand, it did make me feel very ordinary, LOL! it was like we all came out of the same hair mold. was it really the length, or the fact that i'm used to standing out because of my big coily fro?
*okay this thread didn't really have a point... i know... that's why i don't usually start them... LOL
