I use whatever oil I can grab and rub through my ends-on the regular.

Q. How do you know if your ends are healthy?

When they don't feel dry and when they coil up.

Q. Has not trimming effected your ability to keep length?

Hmmm, that I am not sure about. Thats the million dollar question!

Q. Is your hair natural? Yes

Q. How do you maintain your ends? protective style, no heat, DC every week

Q. How do you know if your ends are healthy? I just look at the shed hair. I get a few tiny ones but if I start getting a lot I know I need to do a protein treatment. Most of my shed hairs are long so I'm okay. I also check out the end once in a while and see very few split ends

Q. Has not trimming effected your ability to keep length? nope.

Q. How do you maintain your ends? I've recently started using castor oil on my ends. But before that I never used anything to maintain my ends.

Q. How do you know if your ends are healthy? When they aren't dry and when I do my twist my hair is the same length.

Q. Has not trimming effected your ability to keep length? Never. I usually only cut (don't do trims) my hair once a year at the most. Usually every two years. In 2007 it was tailbone length unti I cut 8 inches. Then in March '09 it was at BSL until I cut 4 inches.

Q. What is your current length? BSL or a little beyond. Since I haven't straightened in a while I don't know exactly.

Q. Is your hair natural?

Yes, I'm natural.

Q. How do you maintain your ends?

I try to moisturize them more than any other part of my hair. I also seal the ends with oil (mostly virgin coconut oil). And I'm getting back to being better about hiding the ends of my hair and doing protective hairstyles.

Q. How do you know if your ends are healthy?
When they don't feel rough (the cuticles are laying down and the strands feel smooth root to tip) and soak up moisture properly.

Q. Has not trimming effected your ability to keep length?

I don't think it has. The last "trim" I got turned into a haircut. I haven't trimmed since then (about 2 years, I think).

Q. What is your current length?

BSL to MBL.

Q. Is your hair natural?

Yes ma'am

Q. How do you maintain your ends?

I jump between jojoba oil, castor oil, hair butter. As long as it moisurizes my ends I use it.

Q. How do you know if your ends are healthy?

They aren't dry and dull looking. Or weathered looking.

Q. Has not trimming effected your ability to keep length?

Surprisingly it hasn't. My hair is longer. It's not breaking off and "splitting to the root" like I was told it would.

Q. What is your current length?

SL and APL

Q. Is your hair natural?

Yes. I have never put anything chemical in my hair
Q. How do you maintain your ends?

Adding extra moisturiser and oil to my ends. I put shea butter on my ends. I also wear braids at bed time I wear my hair pulled back in a ponytail and then flip the pony tail up under a satin scarf.

Q. How do you know if your ends are healthy?

I don't really know if they are. I'm sure I have plenty of split ends but I'm positive about growing my ends to health and not reaching for a pair of scissors.

Q. Has not trimming effected your ability to keep length?

No it has not. My hair is growing faster than I expected.

Q. What is your current length?

After taking down one braid to re do it I'd say between APL and BSL. More nearer to APL.

Q. How do you maintain your ends? Shea butter, coconut oil, protective styles, deep conditioning a few times a week.

Q. How do you know if your ends are healthy? When I straighten my hair I don't have crispy ends. I also do search and destroys to the point of OCD so trust me I make them suckers be gone!

Q. Has not trimming effected your ability to keep length? Not at all. I haven't trimmed my hair in 2 years.

yes

Q. How do you maintain your ends?

I usually moisturize with a leave-in like KKB Hair Nectar, seal with avocado butter, and braid or twist at night. I wear a protective style on most days.

Q. How do you know if your ends are healthy?

They seem healthy to me when they're smooth to the touch and when I don't see a lot of short hairs without the white bulb on the end.

Q. Has not trimming effected your ability to keep length?

I don't think so.

Q. What is your current length?

I'm not certain since I haven't flat-ironed since January and I don't plan to do so until next January. However, I hope that my longest layer is close to APL.

Lately, I have been CO washing several times in the week. I leave extra conditioner on my twist and slather my ends (about 2ins up) with conconut oil. Sometimes I spray with infusium 23 or braid spray. My hair is currently in box braids.
