I will say this nobody mess with my dd nobody, I check grandmother, uncles, kids on the playground. everybody get the evil watch ur back look from mommy dearest, u handled it well op ignorant people:nono:

Yea, that woman was way out of line. That was classless for her to tell you that you needed to do something with your daughter's hair. Your daughter is beautiful by the way!

End of the day hair...shoot. Mid day hair can be questionable looking. DD has the same type as the OP's daughter. I can do her hair at 9 and by 1 it look like I never touched it.

She dead *** wrong for talking sideways.
Hmm...I suppose the fact that I had end of the day hair myself may have contributed to her ignorance...I've had a couple of midday mishaps myself. That's what ponytail bands are for! Keep smilin', keep shinin', knowing you can always count on these...

She's ADORABLE and her hair is beautiful and looks like my DD's. By the end of the day DD's hair dosnt look like it does when we leave the house (I carry an arsenal of hair products in the baby bag when we go out so it can TRY to look the same way throughout the day:look::lachen:). Her texture is just SO baby fine it's hard to hold a style. 2nd day hair doesn't exist for her either. I totally get ya.

That woman's comment was completely uncalled for. I know I would have flipped my [bleep]. Your comment was perfect. She got the point. The nerve of people. I can never understand how people can insult a CHILD. It's so ignorant :nono:

Those babies of yours are too cute! I'm guessing if we were willing to shellack some holding product on their hair that would ultimately dry out their hair and break it off, then it would look "done." I'll take healthy and a little unruly over "It's not sticking up but it's a hot, dry, mess" any day!

I would've started bouncin' and singing...

Yes, mature I know.:look:

@Silenttulip You feel me! And girl, that's more than just the wind: that's wind, naptime, 3 trips to the playground (two at daycare), the stroller, carseat hair, and just general day-old braidout with age-appropriate products. One of the reasons her hair is so long is that I don't do a lot of ponytails, elastics, etc... I know I need to try soaking them in oil, but elastics really do a number on her hair. Once I saw that, it was all about braidouts and wash and goes, and she still has her original length from when she was a newbie

And...I guess maybe this is the true source of my insecurity: I...never...learned...to...cornrow!!!:cry2: And after seeing many tutorial vids, I'm certain I never will. I don't have the dexterity or the patience! Perhaps I will find someone to braid her hair up for a little protective styling, but I love DD's hair and I think it's doing fine. :yep:

Don't let anyone sway you from this routine just for the sake of having every hair in place. I am still trying to grow my edges back from my mom doing this when I was a kid.

And LOL at you using the Busta Rhymes line!!! "let me show ya how to keep the dice rollin when u doin that thang"

I was wondering who was going to catch that! :yep::woot:

Not the Chicken Head song!!! LOL Perfect! ...except she couldn't afford weave...
ETA: I am mad ShiShiPooPoo - you got that song stuck in my head! I had to go and youtube it, and now it really won't go away. "Well you need some gum, breaf like some thunda', what you lookin' at I don't want yo' phone numba!" Good times...

OK, trying this out:
Edited to change orientation: and again--dangit!!!

Her hair looks fine, and even if it didn't, number one: you all were at the park at the end of the day and a child's hair gets wild sometimes after playing. And number two: the lady was just out of line point blank period. :perplexed

I wish some stranger would have the nerve to say something about my child's hair in a 'not so nice way'. I'll just say that would be the last time they made that mistake. :nono: Just foolishness!!

Often when people feel threatened they tend to "speak" on the very thing that they are either the most envious of or insecure about. I understand your anger whole heartedly and applaud you for not stompin' the mess outta that creature! I'm especially glad that this forum is here providing a place where we can feel free to vent, thereby providing us with the fortitude necessary to maintain our decorum in public. You behaved admirably in my eyes.

Okay, I had to change my reply 3x cause this really upset me and sent me on a rant of my own. But I'm cool... I say let it flow! Your DDs hair is beautiful and she looks happy and confident. So don't let someone elses insecurity cause you to doubt or question the fine job you are doing. Mom you should be proud.

I don't care if her hair was all over her head, what would her hairstyle have
To do with what had transpired? Your DD's hair was just fine. It is a shame tha times
Have gotten where a desperate woman feels compelled to show out in front of men.
I am sure out of aal there, men included, she was the only one there with unfortunate hair :(

ROTFL:lachen::lachen::lachen: Just got a visual of OP bouncing up and down with her babies by her side sangin' this! Whew!...too funny....man, now it's stuck in my head, too. :look:

Oh I totally feel you on this OP, I get the same comments from family when I let my little ones rock their afros. It pisses me off when they say do this and do that, or you should do like such and such does for their little girls (with relaxers). As much time and effort as I put into their hair, like you said, you-tubing, hair boarding, researching, ordering oils and butters on line, how dare you...you know how much work and effort I put into my kids hair and you gone come out your mouth and say something ignorant about them wearing puffs every now and then.....I'm over here saying woosas with ya on this because trust me I know the feeling.
