Bree, I'm sorry this happened to you. I can't believe she cut your hair even though you told her not to! That's some blatant disrespectful ish.

After self relaxing for a couple times you'll find it becomes easier, I'm sure you'll do fine.

nursen98, thats a great idea!! I might have to try that myself! I have also had many bad relaxing experiences and that makes me think I cant do much worse of a job than Ive had done on me! I have a lot of underprocessed hair, a little overprocessed hair, and a little in between. My hair is frustrating the heck out of me because of all these different textures!

She should have stayed in her place. She got a lot of nerve to tell you what she's going to do to your head despite you telling her what you wanted. Sometimes you have to get ugly to get your point across.

On the other hand your hair is still beautiful and long and you got a nice trim. So now you won't need one for good while now,all you have to do is concentrate on length.

Yup! And what's with this "dead ends" stuff? All of the hair is dead ends! She should have made her bald if what she was saying is really true. I am so tired of hearing the dead ends thing. None of the hair is alive! I can't imagine that Bree's ends looked so bad that she had to take off two whole inches.

yea, i feel like kicking myself for not being more agressive but it happened so fast and she seriously grabbed my head back and just started cutting.so i really felt defeated and just let the witch continue.=+(

ubavka123--my ends werent even that bad, i dust them myself whenever i see split ends cause i'm always checking. the only thing wrong with them was that it looked thin because all of my hair wasnt the same length.but the deep u camouflaged that. plus i liked it! THAT SKANK!

Lesliec- you aint lying, i've honestly never been happy with a relaxing experience. i know i cant do worse. even if it's a little underprocess from my self relaxing at least i wont rip my hair out by the handful.

i'm sorry to hear this. this reminds me of myself. i probably would have done the same thing and gotten mad at home where only I could hear. I wish I could self relax myself as well and just be a do it yourselfer. I know peachtree does her own touchups as well and her hair is gorgeous. I just wish I didnt have 2 left hands when it comes to hair care.

! She would NEVER get another penny of mine. I'm sure if you were older she wouldn't have proceeded to cut your hair after your very, very clear request. But that shows you how little concern she has for you as a customer. That's okay, she'll never see your lovely head again. Your hair looks great in the new pics, very healthy and wonderful full. You're doing a wonderful job, so I'm sure you'll be able to manage self relaxing as well

OMG reading this pissed me off. I swear I would have gotten up especially since she already permed my hair. Are you going to go back to her?

My stylist did the same thing. She acted like she made my hair grow but when I stop letting her trim my hair it grew.

Bree ... sorry that happened to you, but like someone else said, your hair is still gorgeous. I self relax , and it's not that hard. I've been doing it since late highschool. I gave myself a relaxer one day and didn't tell my mother. When I was finished, I went into the tv room and asked her if she liked my hair,a nd she said, "Yes... it was pretty." Then I said, "Guess what ... I just relaxed my own hair ... can I start doing it myself now?" ...lol.

I was afraid I was going to get in trouble, but she was okay with it. Then I didn't have to worry about going to a SHS that was buring my scalp with relaxers, and waking up with a crusty scalp in the morning.

Self relaxing is not that hard. You can even do a trial run with a cream conditioner ... pretend it's the relaxer ...time yourself to see how long it takes you to apply it ...That's what I would do if I've never self-relaxed before. Then do the real thing next time you need a touch-up. You could even get a friend to help the first time ...maybe someone from LHCF if one of them lives near you.

That is really a good idea to do your own hair if your stylist does not listen to you. If you saw my post a day or two ago, self relaxing your hair is really an easy and fulfilling process. Do a trial run with conditioner if you like, but don't be afraid --- just do it!
