Negative Results and Miconazole Nitrate???Anyone??

I'm thinking about getting some. From doing various searches on the topic I only found one person who thought they had a negative side effect from using Miconazole Nitrate. Just want to make sure there aren't any others out there.

And is everyone sure it's not causing reversion of their relaxer?

Thanks in advance...

None here, but I think since this is pretty new, not many people have reported results - good or bad.

Thanks HoneyDew.

Are you using this...what are your results thus far???

Yes, I use Neosporin AF. My hair is growing very fast. So fast that I find it hard to deal with, you know. :) The new growth is fighting back! :)

I was using it all over, but I stopped and just applied to my trouble area so that it can catch up to the rest.

I apply it straight w/o any oils of anything.

My goal was to reach shoulder length by July 21, but I have changed that to have even hair by July 21st. I have patches of hair that are much shorter than the rest because i cut it after a BAD weave incident last year. It has been ugly dealing with this and I am still recouping from it.

Anyway, at this rate, I think I will make it!

How much has your growth rate increased do you think? Have you measured the actual length difference since you started? How long have you been using it? You apply to the scalp only right...not the hair?

Sorry for all the questions...you seem to be the only one responding :) hope you don't mind.

Actually on the contrary. I have seen lots of positive reviews from it and just one "bad" about the possible reversion.

Can you point me in the direction of the thread that talked about possible reversion, if you remember.

Thanks :)

I've only been using it for about 2 weeks. So far, I've not had any adverse effects. My hair hasn't 'reverted'. The new growth just gets wavy when it's applied, I only use on the scalp and not the length of my hair.

Yes, I have seen lots of new positive reviews but none older than a few months. There have been no long term users with reviews.

I started using it in Feb and posted my results. Up until then I don't remember seeing any progress pics or anything.

I am actually glad that others are using now, because I was started to think I was crazy because my hair was growing so fast.

Anyway, for me, so far so good. - (I mean GREAT!)

HoneyDew thats some awesome growth thanks for the pics...I'll be going out to get some M.N. A.S.A.P.!

No reversion just growth. I actually have before and after pics that I will post in the near future.

That would be great...I checked your album earlier today to see if you had any, and was about to PM you. :)

Hard one...lol. It was in one of the many MN threads we have going...page 1 or 2. Poster thought her hair may have reverted but wasn't sure. That's been all I have seen that was "bad"

Wow, HoneyDew you just made a believer out of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you using both brands that you have in your album? How many times a day?

Sorry you were getting drama in another forum...some people will just never understand our quest...too bad for them!

Ok thanks...I guess I won't know until I try.

Nice growth HD..keep updating so we can all see it. :)

Exactly. If you get great growth AND reversion I would take it as a trade off...lol

Guys, I was addicted to the growth when i first noticed it and was applying it every time I thought about it.

I was at home all day because I wasn't working. I would just apply it all day long.

Since I have started my new job, I have slacked off to once every other day or so, but my hair is still growing pretty fast.

I am having a harder time managing the new growth because of my new schedule.

That's why I am going totry to find someone good to do my hair for me.

Also, yes I use both of those.

There was a lady on ebay selling the Diabet-x $4 for 2 boxes. She also sold me 2 boxes of neosporin AF for $4. I think i wiped her out, though. :)

I think this is going to replace MTG for me...I'm not using it as much as I used to because I'm really starting to hate the smell. I don't use a couple days before my boyfriend comes to town or I go to visit him. I'm giving it up and moving on to Miconazole Nitrate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday, I am going to get my hair done (BF coming home from being out of town!!!!:p ) so I am going to try to update this weekend.

I hope that I don't need a big trim, though :ohwell:

Sorry for the additional questions:

Are you alternating between both or using up one then moving onto the other??? Do they have different concentrations?

How much growth so you usually get a month HD? 1/2"? Looks like in that 2 weeks (when you took the pic) you have over 1/2".

Honestly, I can't tell.

I think after i have been usign it for a while, I can take a more accurate time vs inches measurement.

When i was applying it for often, it seems to be 1.5 inches in 4 weeks or so.

It is so hard to tell.

i need to use it on a regular basis and for a longer time period to give you guys an honest measurement.

it was just an experiment at first.

i alternate. which ever once i grab first.

The neosporin af seems to give more tingle than the other for some reason.

I can't tell if they give different grwoth results, yet.

Girl, whether your stylist says you "need" it or not, I would just say NO and opt for a dusting, if anything. ;) Let it grow out so you can continue to measure your progress, than do a "big trim" once you're closer to your goal. :)
