That comment made my morning! To answer the question I will never go back to a relaxer. I can't keep flat ironed hair for a week because I miss my natural hair. I just end up washing it 3 to 4 days later.
Relaxing once a year would be a great medium...I can never say never. I will say that I will never BC again.Relaxing once a year would be a great medium...

Oh, we KNOW you can never say never! LOL!
Just playin' with ya!
:eyebrows2 I'm not giving up my natural journey, even though I am having problems moisturizing my hair. I am determined to remain natural through this year. Any time after that, however, I just can't say. I am hoping this thread can stay positive.

...and I dont consider my hair heat trained either. i have no issues with reversion so it doesnt make sense to get a relaxer when i get better long lating results flat ironing my natural hair.I know I will never go back to a relaxer.
When I did relax in my 20s & 30s my hair was so thin. One beautician even told me that the top of my head look like it was thinning so bad that it was balding, and my edges are already thin and I'm fortunate that my edges didn't suffer.
Also, I notice in a lot of women in their 50s 60s and older that relax--over time the hair just gets thinner and thinner (it could be due to genetics) but I really think that after decades of relaxing, it takes it's toll.
I will flat-iron or use a straightening comb if I want my hair straight, but at my age relaxers are a thing of the past.
Permed my hair at age 16 - My choice after years of pressuring my mother (Although she had a perm she didn't want her daughters to get one.) We both did. Do what I say not what I do, really doesn't work.
Leisure curled at age 18
Transitioned back to a permed at age 20/21
Natural again by age 22 - Mommie was sooooo happy. Pops too.
Will be 40 this year. I am concerned about chopping it all off as I have a tendency to do that more than I am concerned about perming again. I like both short and long hair on me. I am in a grow it long phase right now
