Hey natural ladies! I finally have transitioned from my year of kinky twists and braids, and have a full head of shoulder length natural 4a/b hair....this isn't my first time natural, but it is since I've actually cared about the condition of my natural hair. Before I was in high school/college and wasn't really paying attention....this time around I want a reggie that will have my hair looking fierce:grin:

I have a stylist who can press, and I am pretty good with the flat iron myself. I plan on getting a professional press at least every month (if not every two weeks), and washing weekly myself. I am also thinking about getting a steamer, because I hear that helps the press last longer. What are the products that I should use to condition and moisturize my hair? What do you use that helps you maintain moisture, keep a protein balance, and keep those ends healthy without reversion? Please help, I feel like a newbie right now about these ends!

I'm all up in here girl. I'm about to get off of my no heat diet and I'm researching....so I'll piggy back with you....BUMP

I don't use heat as much but I do plan to do more flatironing this winter cause I'm tired of messing around with my hair so much. But when I do flatiron I usually use either Toque emergencia or Hair mayo (either brand)....i usually mix a little coconut oil into them and do a heated dc or overnight dc. A little castor or coconut oil on my ends every night keep them in good shape.

Thanks! I have some hair mayo already and some castor oil....gotta shop for the coconut oil though. How much castor oil do you use on your ends....I wonder if it will be sticky?
