I'm still in but boy has this been challenging! I'm going out for cocktail tomorrow night and I am soooo tempted to flat iron this thickness. But, I'm not.

I did another flexi rod set and uploaded some pics . This Asian guy on my job said that it looks like I forgot to brush my hair! He's ridiculous so I did not sweat his comment.

See that's what i'm talking bout you probably didn't even ask him for his opinion. Anyway I think it came out great.

Very pretty

:)

I am transitioning as of Feb 2005. I think my hair is underprocessed. I have lots of permed ends.

Thanks for the kind compliments. You all really inspire me to keep transitioning to become 100% natural one day :)

uh huh. He's always giving his unwarranted opinion. I did my hair using flexi rods last week and he made comments like "you look just like Ophrah" and "I see the 80s are back". Both comments in general would not bother me but coming from him these things were said to invoke laughter from his crew. I was trying to sneak out the door to an interview to get myself a better job so I had NO time for the fools. They always have comments about my hair.

I have resigned, gave my 2 weeks notice and I'm moving to a new job, with my "new" 80's do and all! :lachen: Yes, indeed the 80's are back!

My family is amazed that I can get my twists to stay put without using heat or rubberbands. I know it's the beauty of being natural.

I would like to post my small accomplishment. After being bitten by the heat bug for a couple weeks, I successfully went without heat last week. It's a tiny step on the road to recovery. Thank you to everyone for their support.

Well I was saved today. I did a Bantu set and it was cute on Monday. I woke up this morning with what looked like a birds nest. So I did my first conditioner wash and put it in a ponytail. Had I not been pressed for time, I would have roller set and sat under the dryer.
It was okay since the ponytail started curling up, but the ends look horrible.
Either way, no heat. No time due to midterms.

Congrats Chocolate for lasting so long!

I read somewhere it only takes 27 days to start a new habit. You only have 20 more to go. Keep it up. I am hoping that our reward will be thick, healthy and luscious locks.

i guess i will join too..i will be BCing 2morrow when i take out my weave and will be braiding it right back up, so i can keep my hands out of it....so here's np no heat ladies!

Has anyone's hair changed since the heat challenge? My last experience with heat was in March 05. My hair is much thicker, softer and has grown some.

How goes it everyone? Hope no one gave in over the Fourth, trying to get a fly & fried hairdo for the holiday weekend  I think I'm going to put braid extensions in my hair next weekend, and I'm already thinking about blowdrying my hair since it's easier for me to do it w/ straight hair, but I'm gonna try & fight the urge!

I don't plan on pressing my hair until my graduation which will be next year. I hope to have at least 2 more inches by then since I'm not using any heat.

Well I think i'm on 3 weeks no heat now. I just did the BC so i'm really gonna focusing on growth and I know heat will only hinder me.

This is how I feel too.

Sorry...the fourth got me. I put in rods and I only had 5 hours to dry them before going to watch fireworks. I sat under the bonnet dryer for 45 minutes. Back to day one!

I caved in about a week ago. I've hit a rough spot transitioning.

I'm going to try to get back on track.

Hope everyone is well.

Summer time really is helping me out. I wonder if I can hold up for Winter. Don't let me get some more length, I may be tempted to press it just to see how long it has gotten.

:lachen: I was thinking the same thing!
