Well I just finished putting my braid extensions in, took me 2 days I am so tired :dizzy: I didn't give in to blowdrying before doing them, although it was tough parting through this super thick curly mane!

Good for you. I really think laying off of the heat is very helpful too our hair. Sometimes pressing, blow drying and flat ironing can be hazardous to our hair.

Still no heat for me since some time spring '04.

Still no heat for me. Although I was tempted to fry a little section last night to check my progress. My bro helped me get back on the right track.

What did he say to get you back on track?

I have been doing good with my challenge. It seems really easy during summer. I plan on pressing maybe next year just to how much growth I have.

Been a minute since I posted in here.....
I put heat in my hair last week, but I know have braids........

I am, although I wore a wig in 90degree weather so I don't know if that counts  My head felt cool though, since my wig's lightweight ;)

I am getting a lot of your hair is growing comments. I think it is due to keeping my hair moisturized and not adding heat. I will continue the heat challenge. I started in March 05 so I am almost at 6 months. I may press my hair for my birthday next year.

I know I am late, but I want in please!!! I haven't used heat since May. So I can start from June. btw, I was tempted to order the maxi glide also...but of course not use it for the next 3/4 months.

the last time i used heat was march so i'm still going strong. but does it count if i use a hooded dryer for my deep conditioner?

I'm also late and want in. i have not used hair for 1 year while transitioning and since i big chop 2 months ago i wont use it for another year then i invest in a maxiglide hihihi :lachen:

I have been heat free also sense may 2005, I am currently wearing a sew-in weave. I will not be using any heat until mid october when I take my weave out to get my hair straighten. Then I will be going back to my weave in Nov. and wearing it until 2006.

my hair hasnt been doing any better. if anything i think i am having more breakage probably because i was wearing a hat for like 2 weeks straight. im gonna press my hair next week for graduation pictures.

I folded and pressed, the new Maxiglide was calling my name :look: the thrill is gone, so I am back

How did the maxiglide work? I have been hearing about it but never tried it.

I want to press my hair too but holding strong. I would like for it to grow longer. When I press it I want people to be like dang, I didn't know you had that much length. I say by April, I will get it pressed. I would need to get someone who knows how to press natural hair hence not fry it.

Haha, same here...instead of creamy crack I guess the maxiglide is hot heroin
