when i go to the salon to get a dusting which is about every 3months. no ill effects.

I live near the windy city... so for spring/summer/fall every four months, I cowash pretty much daily and get it straightened for regular trims about twice. During the dead cold of winter (about three months) I blow it out and straighten it about weekly... its too cold to be walking around with a wet head under any circumstances.
