NATURALS (4a and 4b) and OYIN Handmade

Don't know if I'm using the products wrong or what, but i just received my order and I've been using my products diligently and my hair is hella dry! I've used the Greg's Juice w/ the Whipped Pudding, DRY! I've used the Whipped Pudding and Do Grow hair oil, Dry but very oily! Today I co-washed and I used the Shine and Define w/ Herbal Essence Hydration as a leave and some of my Do Grow hair oil and my hair is sooooo extremely dry. Oye Vey!!! I'm still trying to find that right combo. I'm at work right now, so when I get home I'm going to spray my hair w/ the Greg's Juice and work some coconut oil and whipped pudding in my twa. Hopefully that will do the trick.

Just wanted to update with my review.

I love Oyin! I bought the sampler, which has 2 oz each of the Greg Juice, Whipped Pudding, Shine & Define Serum and Hemp Honey Condish. The Greg Juice smells divine, but didn't do anything for me in terms of moisture - I would not repurchase.

The Whipped Pudding is great for braidouts and curl definition- I've used it on semi-damp hair at night and on freshly washed hair. I find it very moisturizing.

The Hemp Honey conditioner is great as a DC (I did it under steam, mixed with some oils) and as a leave-in. It is creamy but very spreadable, which I like because I use way less of it than previous conditioners I've tried.

I've never used the Shine & Define by itself, only with the Whipped Pudding, so I'm not sure how well it works. I have bantu knots in right now, so I'll see how shiny my hair is when I take them down. All in all, I'd give Oyin a 8.5 out of 10. I would have rated the products higher, but the Greg Juice was a disappointment.

HHG.

I love love love love Oyin Handmade with some few exceptions.

1) Honey Hemp: don't waste your time, it tangles up my hair to the point where I want to rip it out. It doesn't matter if I use it alone or mix it with another conditioner. Also sucks as a leave in.

Ok now on to the good stuff. LOL

2) Whipped Pudding: I love love love this. It's a wonderful leave in, leaves my hair feeling nice and smooth and hydrated.

3) Shine & Define: Works really well with the Whipped Pudding, keeps my hair smooth and shiny and is great for braid/twist outs.

4) Burnt Sugar Pomade: I have a heavy hand so it can be greasy but now what I do is apply Whipped Pudding, and then take a dab of the pomade to seal.

5) Greg's Juice: I'll come back with my review on this, I recently placed an order from NC.

Wow.. this is very interesting...I based my homemade condish on this - as it was very thick when I bought it a few years ago. :ohwell: OH well... good to know. I have not purchased it in years.. and now - I won't be....

Their products don't really work for my hair, but I've only tried the hh condish and the juice and berries. Both products smell wonderful(I spray a little of the j&b just for the scent), but they don't really do anything for my hair...

So since my last post I did order Oyin Handmade's three juices and the Honey Hemp. Here are my reviews:

1. Honey Hemp - Personally not a favorite or staple. It does not provide much slip at all and I do not like the smell. I find my cheap Suave Coconut condish does a better job at detangling and moisturizing than this product. Won't be repurchasing.

2. Frank Juice - I actually like this. I spray this on my dry hair for detangling purposes before styling. It helps soften the roots very well. I can definitely see this as a staple in my regimen.

3. Greg Juice - Same reviews like Frank Juice but I actually prefer the smell of the Greg over the Frank. This is a staple.

4. Juices and Berries - Love the smell. Reminds me of summer. I only use this for scent purposes. Will definitely be repurchasing.

I  Oyin.

-Frank Juice Keeps my hair moisturized and smells awesome. I haven't had to dilute it or have experinced it feeling sticky?? I shake my Frank Juice and spritz my hair with no problems. The smell is wonderful too.

-Honey Hemp Conditioner   It gives me wonderful slip and leaves my hair smelling good as well as fluffy soft. It's not to runny or watery imho.

-Whipped Pudding A little bit goes a long way (for me) I use it mostly on my ends during the winter. I like the smell...it's heavenly.

I love the burnt sugar pomade! Like a previous poster said, the whipped pudding was good, but the choco smell gave me a headache. If I were to buy it again, I would get unscented. Juices and Berries didn't really do anything for my hair.

I waited a good 3 weeks for my products, I guess because everything is made fresh.
