Dang, I see the claws came out and the REAL opinions of the members of this board behind all the thanks and the smiley emoticons came out today. Real catty ladies, good job and keep it up all to defend a point in a superficial played out thread. ;)

It must suck to be from where a lot of you are from cus the naturals I see in real life look dope. Tis all.

Yes. Yes I know. :yep: And 943280943280943280942 times more men hit on you now that you are natural. You are also treated with a tremendous amount of respect by every person you encounter....Now that you are natural... You found yourself...Now that you are natural...You are now guaranteed a spot in heaven...........................................now that you are natural. :spinning:

In all honesty... I think natural girls that are like that girl who made the video have some freaking issues. Why is she soooo pressed for other people to be like her? She needs other women to do what she is doing in order for her to be secure? She needs other people do what she is doing so badly, that in her warped mind, she has labeled them as weak and herself as confident. If she is so confident then she would spend more time focusing on that damn fade on top of her head as opposed to what's going on with the next woman's hair.

If going natural was too dramatic for her, to the point where she feels she has to make videos about it, attempting to coerce relaxed heads into going natural through a form of degradation... Then maybe "natural hair isn't for her" either. She is too tired. And anyone that thinks like her is tired just as well. If you are comfortable with who you are, then why do you need the majority to have hair just like you as well? She needs to take a seat.

The only reason why I could see someone putting down another side is because they are insecure with their own decision so they have to be extra vocal and aggressive, to make themselves believe they made the right decision...smh.

:look:

[edited out for space]

"Some people need to join us ten years from now after we've already paved the way for them." Is this chicken head serious? Wtf? Did she just BC like 4 months ago? And now she is some expert or advocate. Walking around like she is LongHairDontCare2011 when in reality she is just Amber Rose with a tan. Girl BYE.

:dead::dead:

Wow. This right here is truth.
Well this is truth too.

Pick one, please! :grin::grin:

Does it really matter? Even if it was made scientific fact tomorrow, that "natural hair was for everyone" it makes not one difference. People will relax, and others will go without. Make your choice and be happy. No need for debate.

:clapping: :yep: :clapping:

I like her posts. They add variety and a different point of view. Sometimes group think and being politically correct has a way of taking over this board.

EXACTLY!

If you are so secure....Then just do you keep it moving. Smfh. And its not all naturals that are like this... Just the insecure ones.....Perhaps natural is not for them. :rolleyes:

Ok guys! I'm about to go to the gym :( and when I get back and cowash, I'm going to try a twist out on my transitioning hair! I can't wait to see what it looks like! I think I'll use Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing smoothie for it :yep: I can't wait to read more when I get back!

**I'm very excited about my impending twist out, as I have never tried one before. And I just wanted to tell someone...and I was currently in this thread so...thanks for letting me share :) lol***

Wont, what? Im just curious.

In all realness, for ME, Im the LAST one to try to relax my hair because of the red. Trust me, I give whitey a hard time and I dont wanna be him/her. I KNOW this is hard to believe, but there are some peple who are WELL versed in the red and STILL excersise their option of relaxing. *shrugs*

This is the thing though...

As i stated before, we do things without consciously knowing why we do or prefer to do them. I get what you are saying, i get it, you are not thinking in your head when you pick up that perm "let me straighten my hair so that i can look like a white girl for the next 8 weeks" lol. That is not what i'm saying.

I am saying that some of our biggest and most pervasive preferences have underlying origins... especially when a high number of individuals from a specific group engages in that practice. Sometimes the origins are good, sometimes the origins are not so good.

Let me ask you this and anyone can reply, of course...

When an individual prefers lighter skin, most of the time, why do we think they have that preference? No need to be PC, either.

Girl bye. What is your problem? Did you ever think that maybe some people just like straight hair? Did you not see where she wrote that she had also been natural for some time too? Maybe she wanted a change? Like seriously. You are just thinking way tooooo deep up into it. I could understand if she was walking around looking like Lil Kim. But my goodness you are REACHING. My car is white... I suppose there's a deeper meaning behind me choosing a white car as well huh?

:lachen: Stop it ya'll. My roommate is trying to sleep. I am over here trying to stifle all of my laughter.

That you are self hating. Because at the end of the day if you alter your hairs natural state you hate yourself. You're so self hating. It's okay. One day you will see the light. Let me pave the way for you. You're not strong enough to be like me yet. I understand.
