naptural85's latest video, "how to get the best twist out on natural hair"

This was quite good. I would love to see someone recreate this on kinky hair. Can't wait to try it! Also, other ideas for stretching would be nice, curlformers sounds tedious. Can you just stretch w/big braids or something?

mech, thanks for posting the link. Naptural85's video just gave me an idea of how I can maintain a twist-out, and work out in the morning before work. Now my hair won't shrink up so much while I sweat.

I just spent well over an hour putting Curlformers in. They better last a few days!

I just finished watching this video, came here and found this thread. Her hair does look amazing. I have to keep reminding myself that she's been natural for 3 or 4 years. Her hair looks so long!

That’s one gorgeous twistout!
From now on I'm going to start using large flexi rods or large magnetic rollers to stretch my hair out for my braidouts/twistouts. She's convinced me to give it a try.

I've done her method. Ill dig up pics!

Ok I haven't done her method in a while not since early last year.

My hair didn't really 'hang' yet. I'll revisit and do this again maybe next week.

Excuse the wild look. It wasn't styled yet.

The way she does it makes your twistouts define and uniform, The only thing I don't like is that I have fine hair, When I stretched it across the head my twists weren't REALLY defined. (the first pic) because it was being stretched. So it had a more slightly wavy thing going on. But I stopped doing twistouts because they cause me to get SSK's. I may do this again one day just for a day or 2.

diadall please share pics of your finished results
pookaloo83 thanks for sharing the pics. How did you get your edges to lay so smoothly? What method did you use to stretch your hair before this style? What about the style in your siggy, did you stretch your hair first. I'm liking the fullnes and hangtime.

virtuenow back then I didn't stretch my hair prior to twisting or braiding for my 'outs' They were both done on shrunken hair.

Now I stretch my hair after every wash with flexirods. After that I take medium sections spritz with water, add an oil or pomade and braid. Then I get what's in my siggy.

@pookaloo83 Thanks, does curlformers give a better stretch than just using big braids for stretching? How did you get your edges so smooth?

To me it gives it a better stretch. And the stretch comes out straight vs big braids that will give me a lil bump/wave and I don't get that same straight stretch IMO. I don't use anything on my edges. No pomade, gel or anything. I guess when I pull it looks straight like I used gel, but I don't. virtuenow
And it doesn't take me long to do my hair. I wash, dc, throw in flexirods any old way cause I'm not using it to get curls. I dry under my hooded dryer for 45 mins take out flexi's or curlformers. After each curler coming out I braid that section. I like my hair as stretched as possible.

Her hair looks AWESOME, but it makes me depressed because my hair is not where I want it to be. Braids- here I come. :ohwell:

I forgot how much I love Naptural85 videos! Beautiful twist out!

pookaloo83 love your siggy pic & your hair is growing out nicely. I wish I was creative. You always have the cutest hair pics.
