Your hair is beautiful(as always) and soo thick. I am planning on maintaing my length as well for a while to gain some thickness, soo glad to see it worked for you! How long have you maintained that length? Have you been trimming regularly? Thanks for sharing!!

Supergirl - STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL HAIR!!!! since its in such great condition and can handle the ordeal you went through...could you please pass along some pointers?? what's your regimen? how can i incorporate it into my un-relaxed hair (that i usually wear curly.) i'm sick of my sllllllllllllooow growth. my hair is healthy, but it doesn't take well to the heat styling that i sometimes must do. any recommendations?

SG, your hair is like WHOA!!!

Could it BE any prettier?? ;) May I inquire as to how tall you are? Cuz I am thinking I'd love to be at your length, but it may be a little overpowering for my 5' 2" frame. It looks PERFECT on you though.

OH, and congrats on the weight loss! Did you just recently lose alot of weight?

Your hair looks fabulous as always. I think your hair stood up to the rough treatment because you take such excellent care of it. If it were a non LHCF member it prolly would be jacked.

*still drooling over ends*

Very pretty. I'm glad I bought my Mizani H20 Night Stuff today.
Maybe one day my hair will look like SG's.

I got mine too! It smells so good and made my hair GLEAM. I have it on hand for when I have any trouble with breakage in the future.

Supergirl your hair is amazing and your figure looks super cute too:) Next time you go to the salon, the first thing you should tell them is "You can't use a fine-toothed comb on me." I swear, it's like they don't teach them the proper use of a comb in beauty school. I know for a fact that White stylists do not torture their clients like that.

My jaw just dropped when I saw your hair, it's so beautiful! Thank goodness your hair is in great condition, I think I would have went into a coma if someone pulled that much hair outta my head :p BTW, your bathroom is my DREAM bathroom. I'm jealous :)

Ure hair looks GREAT, SG!!!! Im so glad she didnt do any permanent damage with her carelessness. Your hair looks wonderful and absolutely a picture of health!!!! :D Thanx for the update!

Wow! Your hair looks awesome! You go girl with your sexy waist!

Whew Thanks! I'm workin' on it ;)

For those who asked about my weight loss, yes I've lost 12 pounds since November. I've lost around 30 since my first fotki hair pic which was taken in early 2003.

About the hair,

Ladies I appreciate such encouraging words. I cannot tell you how RELIEVED I was to find that my hair was still doing well after what happened at the salon! And, for the past 6-7 months, I had been nursing my hair because I somewhat jacked it up by trying to self-relax. :( Mizani Rose H20, I'm tellin' y'all -- if you'll be consistent with it, it really helps BIG TIME!

The rest of my day was sour after seeing all that hair at the salon that day. I wanted to cry. So, for real, thanks for the support and encouragement.

STL, I've been maintaining at this length probably since October. That was my last trim. But I did trim this past weekend 1/2-1 inch. (trim was a few days after the pic in the original post was taken) I have found that the longer I've been with a healthy hair regimen, the less I've had to trim. I used to go 3-4 months but now I can go 5-6. I also found that while I still had no-lye ends, I needed to trim to get them off. They are all gone finally and I think that also may be a factor in why I don't have to trim as often. Not using heat helps a bunch too, in my opinion.

Wyldcurlz,
Try to cut back on heat if you can. I wish I could help you with a suitable air-drying method for natural hair, but I don't know. Can you wash and go with a little leave-in conditioner? I air dry my hair with it hanging straight down. I don't towel dry or squeeze or anything. The weight of the water pulling my hair helps the hair to air-dry smoother. It's not heat-smooth, but it doesn't dry rough either.

And, are you sure that your hair grows slowly? Maybe it just seems that way because of shrinkage.

For my regimen, check out all of my products in my signature. Here's what I do--I wash 1-2X week. I try to only use shampoo every 2nd or 3rd wash though. Aura Cacia Organic Jojoba oil is a favorite staple of mine. NTM Silk Touch is a moisturizer I've grown to love--on wet or dry hair.

I relax with Mizani Lye every 10-12 weeks. I hope this helps. If you want more info., just let me know. :)

 Good Lord, SubhannaAllah, your hair is beautiful :D . I love those thick blunt ends, the color is nice also. Glad everything is A O.K.

SG, your hair is gorgeous as always! I'm so happy that hair is still doing well after your last visit to the salon. :D

I love your hair, I just love it, love it, love it!
Now I have to look at your regimen. I might have already a while back, but can't remember so...off I go.

Lovely, thick hair, Supergirl. Are you going to let it grow to tailbone length?

No, I like the current length. I don't think I want it much longer. We'll see though. Hair goals change like the wind. :)
