I use to think that cowashing was washing with two shampoos :lachen:. WOW!!! What is your hair confession? The good, bad, and the not too smart (like mine). Post them.

I'm still confused about what the difference is between co-washing and dcing and I been here for longer than a year, lol.

Co washing is done with cheapie conditioner and is usually done for a few minutes while in the shower. There is no shampoo with co washing, just condition, rinse and go. Deep conditioners are usually accompanied by shampoo and are done with thicker, more expensive (than cheapies) conditioner. Deep conditioners are left on considerably longer than co washing conditioners and do more to infuse moisture into your hair.

I'm ashamed to say what I was confused about when I first started here. I'll just say the words:
:lachen:
"cleansing poo"

I remember thinking hmmm.... So if you're backed up that can interfere with healthy hair? :spinning:

sorry ladies I can't figure out how to delet this I posted the same thing by accident.

Before I actually subscribed to this board and was just stalking the site I saw everyone talking about how great EVOO was. So i took it upon myself to go buy it. I was the idiot walking in to every beauty supply store looking for EVOO because I did not know it was an acronym. After so many failed attempts of trying to find t his product I gave up and just bought some regular moisturizer.

I finally got it when I was helping my mom cook and she asked me to get her some EVOO from the cabinet. I said why are you putting hair stuff in the food. She finally explained to me that EVOO stood for EXTra virgin olive oil. I then felt like a complete idiot for walking in to every beauty supply store and asking them for EVOO especially when I had it in my house the whole time. To this day my mom still makes fun of me for it. LOL

Before deciding to go natural, the THOUGHT of putting oils and gels in my hair was a BIG no no.

I only let people touch my hair in its curly state.

These are funny!!! :lachen:

I have so many, but I can't think right now. My brain doesn't work in the mornings

I'll be back when my brain is functioning correctly :D

I used to think HE conditioners was the name of an actual product. I was like where the heck do I find that? Only to find out months later HE stands for Herbal Essences.

:lachen: These are funny! I was pretty clueless too when I was lurking, but I cant think of anything funny to add! Keep sharing, ladies!

Okay.....I thought brown gel was good for my hair because it said "protein" on the front.....now I understand why my hair was so hard!!!!!:lachen::lachen::lachen:

i thought being natural meant that i get to just wash my hair everyday and walk out the door with natural beautiful curls that needed no work, maintenance, accessories or product... :nono:

For the longest time I didn't know what BSB meant. As a matter of fact, I think I'm still confused. I believe it means Below Shoulder Blade. I used to think that it was a british term for BSL :lachen:. Who knows where I got that one from.

:lachen: I had the opposite problem. I used to think WEN was an abbreviation of something, and I kept trying to find out what product it stood for. Then I watched a review and they showed the product name, and it's actually called WEN :spinning:.

Thanks for this post. I was always confused by what BSB meant, too.

I just knew, I just knew with all my heart that if I let my natural hair grow longer that instead of being a 4z I would sooner or later have hair that was 4a like my cousins. It had to be right we are both in the same family her hair is long and 4a so why wouldn't mine be also?!

Delusional tendencies are a real son of a gun!

shikakai powder was always pronounced as she-ky-ky lolol. I said it wrong for so long...i can't help it now. I still call it she-ky-ky. To add ...I always pronounced aphogee as a-pah-ho-jee. (i think its really a-fo-gee right?) Lolol. somethin like that.

:lachen:me too...I avoid saying the names of these products out loud. I was pronouncing Joico wrong for weeks until I was corrected by the girl working at the store!

I went online and googled BOGO since you guys were buying it all the time. I thought it was some sort of haute couture brand of goodies.

OMG....those are too funny. Well, I don't know if this is funny or just plain stupid. But, I didn't grow up using curling irons. My mom use to make me rollerset. So, I've never been to comfortable using them and I ALWAYS burn my ears. Well, one day I decided to straighten my hair (I had been wearing it curly for months) and I plugged up the curling iron. Normally I use it right away. But this particular day I went to iron clothes or something and I came back to flat iron. Well, I put the flat iron on my hair and low and behold my hair fell completely out of my head. Being that my hair was tailbone length at the time it really looked like a lot of hair. I just stood there looking at it in disbelief. Then I started laughing at myself. Thank goodness it was on the side of my head so it was pretty easy to cover. But, I did a hair show months later and when the guy went to cut my hair he was like what happened right here!!:lachen::lachen: I was so embarrassed and he kept telling all the other models too!

Wow these are funny....I'm trying to figure out what I had a hard time with....I didn't know what a troll was, umm I didn't know what APL-BSL-and all the other abbreviatinos meant. I read sooo many threads wrong that when I discovered what they meant, It was a complete revelation....I mean HTH? Hope that Helps-didn't know that either. I was also like, what in the world is a Fotki? It was almost as unattractive as Twitter, which I thought sounded pretty ridiculous...I'm glad I know now. I love Fotki :o) I think that's it for now...maybe I will think of others.

Until today I thought Bigen, the hair color, was pronounced Big gen. It's actually pronounced Bye Jen..

I was also blown away when I figured out I didn't need to grease my scalp

And who knew brushing your (natural 4b) hair daily like a mad man was breaking it all off!

I could never figure out how to pronounce Jojoba Oil. I always used to pronounce it jo-jo-ba oil instead of ho-ho-ba oil!
