Most Expensive Hair Product You Spent Money On...

Miss Jessie's Curly Buttercreme. I bought it on eBay, but it was still expensive-$58 with free shipping. I turned around and sold it back for $50 and charged shipping LOL.

I also bought a sample of the Baby Buttercreme from curlmart.com. I know it was only $9, but for 2 oz. of product, that is still expensive.

They didn't quite work for me. If they did I would use them and repurchase at the BOGO event.

I don't spend alot of money on hair products because mostly I get stuff from Big Lots with those big markdowns, and I also like to whip stuff up in the kitchen like my coconut milk hair mask and a great leave-in I made last week with four ounces of rose water, 14 ounces of aloe vera juice, half teaspoon of honeyquat, half teaspoon of panthenol, half teaspoon of wheat protein and teaspoon of silk amino acids. That turned out so great, I was mad at myself for having just bought some Ojon revitalizing mist, so I just switch up every other day.

Ojon restorative treatment when it first came out - $42.00 for five ounces. It lasted almost a year and got me through my transition. I bought it again in 2005, and I still have a half jar left as it didn't work the same after I was done transitioning. I need to toss it.

Ojon revitalizing mist three years ago - $39.00 for 16 ounces, but it lasted several months. I just bought a second bottle off Ebay for $28.99 for 16 ounces, so much better. I just also bought some Aveda damage control heat protectant leave-in, which is about $17.99 for 8.5 ounces, but I got it off Ebay for $12.00, which isn't too bad.

L'occitane olive paste in 2005 or 2006. I think it was $26.00 for eight ounces. It was good stuff, but I wasn't wowed, so I returned it. i just saw it is now up to $35.00.

Emu oil, twice (around $40.00 for 16 ounces and that was cheap) and monoi oil once(around $25.00 for 16 ounces, which was also cheap for that kind of oil).

The most expensive hair product I've purchased was Megatek for 32.00. KCCC is the 2nd most expensive product. I do not spend a lot of money on my hair unless it is for a protective style.

WEN $40ish--will purchase. I am on auto-delivery with easy pays
Photospecific relaxer $60.00. I will NOT repurchase. I am natural
Moroccan Oil--$38-40something. I will not repurchase. I didn't get the HYPE
Ojon Treatment--$40.00 I will not repurchase unless I get a good deal, but I do like it.
MegaTek and Strinillah? I love these both as well, but unless I get a fabulous deal, I will not replace.

I have replaced my Maxiglide 3 times because I broke them, and I would again--$75-100.00 a piece, depending on the package, and I will FOREVER have one.
SEDU for $100+. I bought it on value pays. I will not replace.
Huetiful Steamer $119.00. I would replace.

Probably Ojon Restorative hair treatment, but that was a few years ago - $40 or so.
Currently, Mop Top Deep Conditioner 31.50 -- we're married.

Ojon, Kim Vo, and Oscar Blandi -- somewhat pricey lines, but have some really good products.

I will probably not repurchase Kim Vo shampoo & conditioner, because although it does work really well, there are cheaper things that work well too. The Kim Vo masques are $45 each, and I get silkier hair from Skala, so...

But there are definitely specific specialty products from these lines that I think are worth it and will or have already repurchased:
Ojon Revitalizing Mist ($26 for 5oz)
Ojon Rub-Out Dry Shampoo ($10 for 2oz)

Kim Vo Brilliant Luster Glaze ($24 for 7.5 oz)
Kim Vo Perfect Polish Dry Serum ($55 for 1oz -- got a good deal on eBay, though)

Oscar Blandi Marine Mud Treatment ($26 for 5.3oz)

Uncle Funky Daughter Extra Butter $22

Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter $18

I don't think I had went beyond $25 on one hair product.

Steamer £300 / $437USD
Dryer £150 / $217 x 2 as my first one broke

Most expensive products are Kerastase, L'occitane and Frederic Fekkai masques.

Moroccan Oil, 38.99 I think and yes i LOVE it. because it will last so long, i'd probably buy it again too.

Same here on the Moroccan Oil but Sally's Argan Oil is a close equivalent and much, much cheaper. Unrelated question...how do you get your bun so pretty and neat?

Ojon restorative treatment-$65 worked great at first but now I know of other products
Carol's Daughter-from $18 to $25 each Poos, Condish, and hair milk- Will only purchase hair milk or healthy hair butter (for colder months)
H2ion leave in for around $50 +s&h- Got me through transition but no longer needed
WEN-$45 good product but I won't continue to pay those prices when other condish work just as well for CW

I've found my hair likes natural things (Thank you LHCF ladies!!). The purer the better!

Steamer **Best Investment I've made on my HHJ!

...so do you like these products & are any of 'em keepers?

The One's I've Highlighted I've used and enjoyed....Most of the other ones I've never used or are a 'collection' in my Stash.:yep:

btw: I gifted the Restructing Masque when I switched from Linange Relaxer (Lye) to Mizani Butter Blends (Lye).

The Keratase Oleo was also gifted to another member.

KCCC twenty something dollars and I will never be without it if I can help myself.... One tub lasts a few months and is used by me and my DS.

Everything else I use I make myself or it costs 8 bucks or less.

I forgot to mention Alter Ego Garlic Treatment for $36.00 --- hated it! Used it last to week to stop shedding; it did nothing! I washed my hair three days later (yesterday)and used my daugh. Vitale Super Reconstructor Conditioner Intensive Treatment 16 oz. for $7.99. Sat under heating cap for 20/mins., rinsed it out and my hair was so soft, tangle-free and....no shedding!

I had the same experience with Alter Ego Garlic Treatment,my hair hated it,made a tangled mess.
I had been using Vitale Reconstuctor before my LHCF Day and it still remain a staple.
(old formula).

1.)Pureology Instant Repair Leave-in Conditioner 8.5oz about $30.00
2.)Phyto Specific Relaxer about $60.00

I love the results I get from both of these products on my hair and will continue to keep them as staples.

1.)Pureology Hydracure Intense Moisture Mask 5.2oz about $40.00

When I would go to the salon to try and save my hair before my hair care journey; my hair was extremely dry, damaged and broken off. That stylist uses the Pureology line and although nothing could save me from having to B/C bald and start fresh, I was extremely impressed with the way my hair felt after leaving her salon. So I said all of that to say that's why I was willing to pay so much for this little bit of product.

This particular product was okay, it does moisturize.....I don't know what I was expecting but the price is way up there for the amount of product you get. About $8.00 per ounce. It gives your scalp a tingly sensation (like that dr. miracle line) but you can get the same effect by adding peppermint oil to your favorite moisturizing conditioner. I will not purchase this product again.

Nexxus emergencee i've only bought twice. It worked very well for my relaxed hair, but my transitioning hair doesn't so hopefully my natural hair won't either. I don't think i'll buy it again anyway.

Just a little fyi, Emergencee was so good to me when I was relaxed, but as soon as I had a significant amount of new growth it turned on me! I have fine 4b/4a (or something like that) hair.

Ojon's restorative treatment and tunu elastik shampoo & conditioner. It was about 40 for the restorative treatment and 25 per shampoo and condition. I will most def buy them all again, but I don't use them often.

Ovation Cell Therapy- between 55-60 bucks. Can't really remember.
Worth every penny. :yep:
