I just can't do it! If I buy one brand of shampoo I have to get the matching conditioner, oil, sheen spray...just everything that brand has. I feel that you won't get the best out of the product unless you use the other products that are suppose to compliment them. This complex keeps me from trying new products because I end up spending all my money on the entire line. This condition also leads me to believe that my hair is not reaping all the benefits it could. For example, Nay007 and Supergirl loved the Motions Oil Moisturizer protein conditioner so I went to my BSS and spotted the conditioner and made it 5 feet from the counter to pay for it and ran back for the shampoo

I ended up not buying anything at all because the shampoo didn't come in a smaller bottle. I need help yall! Anybody else have/had this problem?

i have that problem too. if i buy one, i have to buy them all. but i've learned my lesson w/ motions and pantene r&n. the only thing i liked from motions out of the WHOLE line i tried was the wrap lotion. out of pantene it was just the conditioner and oil moisturizer. i'm pretty mad that i spent all that money on ALL those products to not be completely satisfied, but i guess you never know until you try.

Sounds like an expensive habit if the line is pricey!

I generally check the forum for reviews before shopping. That's why I bought Breakthru shampoo but not the conditioner, and Elucence MB conditioner but not the shampoo, etc.

I like the concept of giving my hair what it needs at any given time, but I don't expect it all to come from one product line. Plus, I'm cheap.

same here.. if i get the conditioner.. I get the shampoo.. I noticed that 2day as I looked at the many products of Suave I have..lol

D I T T O (especially the cheap part!)

Well what took me away from that is I read in allure that product lines are usually built around one great product and the rest is just so-so. Like for example: Sebastian Shaper hairspray is great the rest of the line is alright. The only time I buy a line (and even then it is only poo and conditioner) is if it is supposed to do something special like PM Super Skinny.

I check LHCF for reviews before I buy anything, too.

But Megon, girl!! You NEED to get the Elucence Moisture Benefits shampoo!!! It's the BEST!! And the smell is just "peachy"!! (pun intended

edited to add:

By the way, I almost never buy the full line of anything, unless I've heard great reviews here!! I mix and match my stuff ALL the time!!

Sounds like Jennifer will be exchanging matching products at the next D.C. hair meeting. I don't match all my products. I like to mix and match. I love Elucence hair shampoo but use other brands of conditioners.

When my little bottle of Elucence MB conditioner is gone, I'll probably order the shampoo and conditioner together. I love how cleanly this conditioner rinses out, and it dries to give great strand separation even down near the new growth. It really is a detangling conditioner.

Back on topic:
1. I bought the Keracare hydrating and detangling shampoo with the Keracare Humecto conditioner.
2. I bought the L'Anza Strait Line shampoo and conditioner together.
3. I bought the Biolage detangling solution and the Biolage leave-in tonic together.
Those are my paired purchases in the same line.

I do a lot of mixing - I've discovered that the Elucence shampoo works like a DREAM with Biolage Ultra Hydrating conditioner. Talk about slip!

Kedra

I mix and match as well... I'm only loyal to my KeraCare shampoo amd conditioner.

P.s. Kedra, nice picture of the ROC ...he's looking pretty good lately

I don't think I ever bought the whole line of any product. I just buy what I think it's best for my hair, and like Megonw, I'm cheap too

How many product lines do you have?

[/ QUOTE ]

I have two product lines right now

Barry Fletcher: Moisture Thearpy shampoo, moisture thearpy conditioner, shine spray, pomade, major moisture conditioner and the honeysuckle shampoo.

PHYTO: The entire Phyto dry hair system (this entire line cost me $70 and I don't even use it anymore)

Kedra, please give us a full review on the Biolage conditioner, I've ben dying to try it but several ladies have put me off. I'm hoping someone will validate my need to buy this!

I mix and match a whole lot. As a matter of fact I don't even own a shampoo and conditioner from the same brand.
I only own two products by the same brand at the moment and that are Neutrogena Serum and Neutrogena leave in cream. That's it.

Re: Mix & Match hair products

The only line that I have bought is Barry Fletcher. I have his shampoo, conditioner and setting lotion. And its a complete waste cause I havent used any of them in forever.

Re: Mix & Match hair products

I almost never match, but I do have most of the elasta qp line, the shampoos and conditioners. That's some good stuff

Re: Mix & Match hair products

I guess you can say I have the Nexxus Line Emergencee, Keraphix, Humectress, Therapee and Botanoil. I never got the leave in I forget the name. I have a few elasa qp products too but I never use the whole line for anything.

Re: Mix & Match hair products

The only full line I have is a new acquisition - but it was a good one....

NEUTROGENA!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the ONE line I have ever found where ALL of the products in the line work in my hair. I have NEVER had that happen....

BUT - I'm assuming that at least one of the conds will be a goodie based on the poo, the serum and the leave in. But I haven't actually tried the mask I have yet and I'm picking up the other cond tomorrow...

I'll let y'all know...but I think this may just be my first "line".

Re: Mix & Match hair products

You all are so lucky.

That stuff reaches here like eons after it launches in the US.

It is really hard to get some product lines from keracare, nexxus, kenra unless you go overseas or visit expensive salons.HMMMM maybe a business idea to open a Trade Secret like store for the tropics.

Re: Mix & Match hair products

I don't like mixing and matching either cuz I have the same fears! But lately, I only been using Surge's whole line but with the addition of Fantasia Tea Tree Conditioner and also WGO.
