micro-illusion

hey there a few of you may remember me posting about a technique called micro-illuision which is a weave but strand by strand no glue no corn rows nothing conventional no wax anyhoo alot of you were skeptical as am i however i am supposed to meet with the lady who does it tomorrow so she can explain it to me and answer all my questions that i may have also she has it in her own hair as well so i can see how natural it looks anyway i will keep you all posted about the consultation because if it looks good and natural may be a way to rest hair instead of the usual sewn-in weave which can be very limiting in styles jb

Ladies,

Sadly Janis didn't really get to see how the technique is done. (I PMed her.)

She only got to see how it looks and was explained to how to take care of it.

I'll post below what she shared with me as well as a link I sent her before she went to meet the lady so that she could help clarify Steps 3 and 4 for me. If any of you understand what's being done in those steps, please enlighten me. TIA.

Janisloren:...I WILL SHARE WITH YOU WHAT WE DISCUSSED FIRST OF ALL IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE 1500.00 DOLLARS THAT'RIGHT 1500.00 DOLLARS HOWEVER IT LAST FROM 7 TO 10 MONTHS SOMETIMES LONGER YOU CAN SHAMPOO YOUR HAIR EVERY WEEK OR MORE SHE RECOMMENDS AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK THE HAIR IS INCLUDED UP TO 20 INCHES LONGER THAN THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE I MUST EMPHASIZE IT IS VIRTUALLY UNDETECTABLE SHE HAD TO POINT IT OUT TO ME AND I STILL HAD TO LOOK VERY CLOSELY SHE WILL ALSO TEACH YOU HOW TO DO IT YOURSELF IF YOU LIKE FOR FREE AND INCLUDE A VIDEO SHE SAY IT TAKES AN AVERAGE OF 3 TO 5 DAYS DEPENDING ON SIZE OF YOUR HEAD AND WHETHER OR NOT IT IS SUPER LENGHTY IT DOES NOT TAKE AS LONG TO TAKE IT OUT AS TO PUT IT IN AND THINK THAT'S THE GIST OF IT HOWEVER IF YOU HAVE MORE QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO PM ME BACK

Nonie: Yes, I have questions. How is it done. That website I sent you wasn't clear. Please spell it out.

Thanks.

Janisloren: WELL I CAN' SPELL IT OUT BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T SHOW ME THE TECHNIQUE JUST THE FINISHED PRODUCT WHICH I SAID IS VERY NATURAL LOOKING. HERE ARE A COUPLE OF THINGS WE DISCUSSED HAIR IS INCLUDED UP TO 20 INCHES LONGER LENGTHS ARE MORE YOU CAN STYLE THE HAIR ANYWAY YOU LIKE SHE RECOMMENDS YOU WASH YOR HAIR ONCE A WEEK AT THE LEAST AND CONDITION SHE WILL COME TO YOU OR VICE VERSA IT TAKES 3 TO 5 DAYS HOLLA

Here's the link to The Micro-Illusion Technique.

I dont' mean to bust anyone's bubble but I have heard feedback from
women who have had this process done. It is the single most destructive thing
you can do to your hair. I believe they put tiny undetectable knots on each strand
of your hair. If they dont' knot the hair then they secure it with hair glue.
Imagine that! If you're in it for the looks and don't give a rat's asz about your hair then go for it. However, if you want your real hair to remain
in a healthy condition then I would say avoid this thing like the plague.

Please do more research before you make such a committment!

*fixed a couple typos*

Aha! No wonder that step 3 and 4 is as clear as "yada yada yada". Why couldn't they just say, "Next tie a knot" or "next apply a dollop of glue".

Oh I forget. That'd probably be a breach of some "secret code" and an example of poor marketing. How about "false advertising"??? Grrrh!

I'm so glad I am happy with just doing my own hair in braids.

See, that's why anything that sounds too good and is not being explained like 1+1 always sounds fishy to me.

That reminds me, I am supposed to call Jonetics. I promise to share what I learn. I am not holding my breath for an "all cards on the table" explanation though.

THIS IS WHY I CHOSE TO BE PM'ED IF ANYONE WAS INTRESTED BECAUSE OF THE NEGATIVITY. [/ QUOTE ] I wish I had seen your original post I bought the video for $150 years ago. It is a very time consuming process. I never made the time commitment to actually do it myself. I wish I could upload it the video here darnit. Hmmmm, PM me and we can figure out how to get y'all a copy.

Oh and JanisLoren thanks for the info.

Like I said earlier I have the video detailing the whole process and I could be wrong but as I remember it your natural hair is NOT knotted. HTH

I hope I didn't step on toes; that wasn't my intention. I was just going by what Sweet said and she by what previous customers/users have said.

Brooke, since you have the video, maybe the link I gave above showing the technique makes sense to you. Would you be so kind as to try and explain what is going on in steps 3 and 4. Are they using thread or does the procedure involve only one's hair and the extension hair? How do they keep it from unraveling? Thanks in advance guys.

I was thinking that perhaps the knots previous users complained about were caused by just their own hair knotting up since according to the Pantene website our hair is associated with knots. I can see how easy knotting can be with such small sections....

NONIE NONE TAKEN BUT IF YOU E-MAIL ANGELA SHE WILL SENDYOU A ATTACHMENT WITH AVIDEO ABOUT THE TECHNIQUE I CAN'T TELL EXACTLY WHAT IS IN IT AS I COUD NOT DOWNLOAD IT ON MY COMPUTER HOW EVER WHEN YOU TALK TO HER SHE DOES ASK IF YOUR HAIR IS NATURAL OR RELAXED SO SHE CAN TELL YOU HOW TO PREVENT DREDS IF YOUR NATURAL SO I'M SURE SHE WILL HAVE SOME INFO ABOUT KNOTTING I MEAN SHE ASKS HOW DO YOU CARE FOR YOUR HAIR TYPES OF SHAMPOO CONDITIONERS FREQUENCY OF WASHINGS (SHE RECOMMENDS ONCE A WEEK) SHE SAYS SHE LIKES THE NEXXUS LINES ANYHOW I WILL TRY TO ANSWER AS BEST I CAN BUT LIKE I SAQID SHE WAS VERY OPEN TO ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE

This has been around for years, I think this is similar to LishaColeman's micro-linking method. I think that it can actually be beneficial to your hair because your hair is sectioned off and attached using copper rings. It looks totally undetectable and last for some time. Here are a couple of links with similar methods;

Does anyone but me find the 2003 part of this post fishy?

I mean look,

1) How HARD is it to explain what is done to the hair and the extension to keep them together? It doesn't have to be a full technical discussion, but a simple overview. :smirk:

2) Who in the heck would pay $150 for a VIDEO of a hair extension technique?

3) Why bother coming out with a post to everyone saying "I'll keep you posted" and then after the "meeting with the consultant" put out a post telling everyone to PM if they want to know how it went? :scratchch:

I say whatever........ :moon:
