Mega-Tek & The Archive (2002-2007).....

There have been a couple of questions about long-term use of this 'new' fad Mega-Tek ( :lachen: ) and questions about the long-term results of using it.

Obviously, this last go-around, not many of us have been using it for a long enough time to be able to accurately report on any negative repercussions from long term use.

However, I did some digging in the archives, and there are ladies here (at least some of them are still here) who have been using it for potentially six years. I did the search through google - and I just searched on megatek (all one word). :look: It's a slow day at work, so I'm going to try 'mega tek' and then 'mega-tek' as well. :woohoo: :lachen:

So. Here's the list with links and ladies nicks (when they specifically stated that they used it) and the years the thread was posted. The threads without names usually have more than one person talking/asking about MT.

I did a search on Ovation/OCT, and that seems to be new to 2008. I didn't do too much of a search in 2007, since I was looking for long term usage.

Anyhow, enjoy!

And if any of the ladies listed are still around - personally, I'd LOVE to hear if you are still using MT, and what you think about it, X years later. :love3:

WOW. I don't even use Megatek but that's a lot of good info all in one place. Thanks.

...and this is proof that it's really not that hard to search and find information...

wow Great Job JK , you be the bomb gurrl!

I would also like to know if they used it consistently throughout that whole time , I hope we can find out more this way

Thank you for doing such a thorough search, I truly am hoping for more info to come up and surface , it needs to :yep:

:giggle: Well, yes, though in all honesty I have to admit that I like doing searches, and I'm really good at it. :look: It still ain't that hard. :lachen:

Thanks Iris!!!

Just based on the search I did, I'm not sure how consistent the use was - I saw a couple of threads/comments by both LaNecia and Sareca saying that they were revisiting it - but they didn't elaborate on why they stopped using it. That is one of the downfalls of being a PJ, sometimes. ;)

Thank you Kiya,

This is great information. Adrienne0914 was my very first hair idol back in 2001. So this Megatek really is the truth.

Girl I'ma buy you a short set...that was good.

I would love to know why some people stopped using it...

Probably because there are MILLIONS of new products out there; the good, the bad and the fantastic and they probably just moved on to something new. :yep: We've seen post after post in a product review thread where a member will chime in and say, "Yeah, that product delivered great results when I used it." "I don't recall why I stopped?" :scratchch

This is so helpful. I am new and I have been searching and reading through so many threads to make a regimen based on peoples recommendations. Just trying to learn the basics right now and go from there. I just saw the post about Mega Tek and have been reading SO MUCH about it, people's results, etc. This is so nice to have it all in one thread. Thank you for posting this!

JK ... you are too awesome for words. This was so thoughtful of you.

:flowers:

Thanks, lady.

Oh, wow, ya'll are so sweet! I'm glad that everyone is finding it useful! :grouphug:

Now mind, there's at least 100 threads that have been created since March 2008 that are notup there, and I think there's a lot of valuable information in them too.... :yep:

Wow, JK....I forgot all about that thread:lachen:. I did purchase it when I was transistioning and then I stopped when I did the BC that August. That's why when Sareca bought up the topic again, I remembered I had a whole bottle and then started using it again in March.

Geez....if I would have kept using it at that time, I would be waistlength already:yep:

This was my hair when I first joined LHCF Jan. 2006. I was relaxed and decided to transisition:

Who says MT don't work?
I was looking at your pics last month frustrated with myself because thats how long my hair was and to see ur progress i know i can do it THAnks

I wish one or more of the ladies that made mention of using these products back in those threads would be able to come forth and post if they had 'continual' use and do an update on progress, pics and all the 411

Because as many have stated, even users of MT/OCT, our hair can change how it 'reacts' to something, especially something like protein (Keratin) and especially with frequent use over time

I suppose if none of these ladies come forth and document , all of you using the products now , will be the ones that will be the documented long term 'continual' users down the line, as you all are doing now with documenting things

As stated in a previous thread , in this video age

I hope some of you ladies take that avenue for documentation of growth and issues and how to correctly use these products and all the things that should be known and understood about these products and their use

This is some tricky stuff and those that are using it successfully should seriously consider taking advantage of the visual benefits instructional/tutorial videos could provide new users of these products

what to do for the downsides they might experience etc etc

The proper people need to get on this opportunity and make it happen, and take this avenue that will truly educate others about this stuff and its use/how to use etc , before the wrong people do it

methinks people will watch a video faster than reading hundreds of pages of numerous threads

eta; and one of the most important things to be emphasized and put 'out there' visually would be how to NOT use these products , as in incorrect use , which can lead to possible major issues for some

Im not really doubting whether not not Megatek works, but if u started using it from March to Septemeber.. that looks just like normal growth to me if u take care of ur hair..

Unless u had a major cut in between them.

Its still good progress, but certainly not enough to convince someone to buy MegaTek.
.
