Alterna Overnight

I've been wondering about the Alterna Overnight stuff. You say it's a hit? What has it done for your hair so far, and how long have you been using it? Do you use it weekly, monthly? I'm asking because I've been itching to buy it. TIA

Um, I'm quoting myself?

Anyway, this is an OFFICIAL hit. Continued use, improved results. I'm loving this stuff. It is my new Cowash deal.

Just had to share.

Glad to hear that because I was thinking about getting it and there was a coupon in the Sunday paper!

Yeah, I'm really loving it. No issues with buildup thus far. I've been using for a solid 2 weeks, nearly everyday. I like to shampoo once a week but may be able to push that out further. My hair feels clean AND soft, and not just soft after a typical cowash. With my typical cowashes, I'd NEED to shampoo by the end of the week because of dull and heavy looking hair. Now, I don't need to poo...it had become my habit. If you try it, I'd be curious to see how you like it (or if you didn't like it).

Hit: Shescentit Papaya Curly Souffle!

OMG! Not only does this smell great (light tropical scent) but it makes my hair SO freaking soft. More than soft--it's like silky to the touch and no frizz whatsoever. I used it to set a dry braidout and got really nicely defined waves. I only wish I had gotten the bigger jar...

Hits

Camille Rose almond jai twist butter: it's nice and light and very moisturizing. Anything that's almond always works for my hair. My twist were nice and soft when they dried.

Silk dreams mocha silk infusion: this is a balancing dc in my opinion. It moisturizing but has enough protein in it to give my hair a little boost. It's not very thick but it goes on easy and has good slip. Detangling was a breeze. It's rinses out well and leaves a light mocha scent in my hair :lick:.

HIT: Jason Biotin Shampoo. Didn't care too much for the Biotin Conditioner but the shampoo may be a keeper.

IDareT'sHair What kind of growth are you getting with Hair Trigger? I saw that you stopped using all of your other growth oils because you liked Hair Trigger so much. What do you like about it? Which scent(s) do you like the most?

Renewed Hit While Getting Rid of the Excess Crap in My Stash:

Cowashing with Yes to Carrots Pampering Conditioner (I had forgotten how delicious this stuff is)

Hits: Qhemet CTDG. Detangles like no other! Combing was a breeze and my hair smells delish!

Misses: Everything I ordered from Amaka Creations was an epic fail. I wanted to like the Brami conditioner so bad but it left my hair a hot oily and matted mess. It smelled sooo good though, and the texture was nice and creamy...but my hair hated it. All of her products are greasy.

Yes, other than the 'Blends' i.e. HV, DB, SM and HTN, I will be using Hair Trigger.

It's a lovely oil. It makes your hair incredibly soft, doesn't contain sulfur and it smells decent.

No Stinging, No Burning...so all them Peppers is misleading.:evilbanana:

I did not pay the 'extra' I think it's like $4.99 to have it scented. Some of the Ladies like Brownie518 got the Vanilla Pound cake, which she said smells incredible.:lick:

I first really learned about it from Lita She was posting about it in the HOTs thread.

I got the regular version and it smells like Vanilla Extract or Coca-Cola? It's a tad bit thinner than JBCO and it doesn't stank.

I thought about getting the "Feather Weight" Version, but didn't. I thought it was 'new' but I stumbled on several YT Videos, so it's been out for a while.

It terms of "Growth" I'd like to think it's working. I've only used it about 3 weeks now, but, yes, it's a Great Oil and will most definitely replace all the Growth Oils I currently have in my stash (with the exception of Hydratherma Naturals).

I'm enjoying it and it will/has definitely become a Staple.

@AyannaDivine

Gurl...I wish I woulda' known you were gone buy that mess. Not only are those products terrible, her CS left a bad taste in my mouth.:nono:

You are so right. They were greasy and sloppy looking. The labels were crooked and she had a bad attitude and they looked like they had been mixed by a 1st Grader. I asked for a "refund" because they took so long & she refused.

(This is just my experience).

I was so outdone, that by the time they finally arrived, I sent them straight on to the Poster that had first told me about them. I didn't even want them and didn't bother to try them.

IDareT'sHair Thanks, T! I've been teetering between trying either Hair Trigger or Shi-Naturals growth oil. Think I'm leaning more towards Hair Trigger cuz it's cheaper AND I can get a growth tracking shirt. :drunk:

I sure was eyeing that pound cake scent. Sounds soooo yummy.

I acutally have the Hair Trigger oil but have been using it for about only a week. For reference tiffers & soonergirl, I have the Honeydew Melon scent (and it smells great, like a nice melon scent that isn't overbearing at all) and I also have the Featherweight Formula, which I LOVE because the only other growth oil I've used (Claudie's Elixir) is great but made my fine hair so heavy and greasy easily. This Hair Trigger Oil doesn't do that at all, but as Idare stated, makes my hair soft and look shiny :)

@outspokenwallflower @tiffers

Me and @Brownie518 are always discussing the softness & the shine. Whatever she did, she put her foot in it.....:lick:

So, for me, it eliminates:

Camille Rose Growth Exlir *like this one better than Tiiva & Claudie actually *
Tiiva Growth Exlir *haven't repurchased in a while*
Claudie Growth Exlir *haven't repurchased in a while*
Strong Roots Pimento Oil
*and maybe JBCO* although I don't seal with Trigger. Haven't decided to let JBCO go yet.

So, for that reason alone, I am very pleased with it. :look:

It cuts down on Multiple vendors & multiple shipping. And the big plus for me is No Sulfur.

Not that I'm oppose to products containing Sulfur, but it is drying.

Hit: Claudie's Mango Cream Rinse
As a co-wash and leave-in. It also revived my hair beautifully during my four-day weekend away from home. :yep:

Scalp elixir-loving it, it's proving to be long-lasting

hit:

shea moisture coconut & hibicus curl & style milk

me likey likey likeyyyyy. hair feels soft and most importantly moisturiiiiiized ALL DAY LONG. im weird with moisturizers because none ever work for me OR my hair might feel good for an hour or 2 and then start feeling dry as poo...so even though this has been working great, ive been paranoid that my hair will decide to start hating it. haha. been using it since saturday...so far so good. i'm keeping hope with this one.

outspokenwallflower Can you share what oils are in the featherweight formula? I have fine hair and would love to give this a try.

Many thanks in advance for your response,
tishee

ETA: my March hits
-the greenhouse effect/baggying during the day

IDareT'sHair thanks for the link sweetie! Unfortunately, I only see this ingredient list: http://www.hairtriggergrowthelixir.com/ingredients.html#axzz1qTWbEGbS and it does not list the ingredients for the feather light.
ETA: I see it now....in fine print located at the very bottom....my aging eyes:look: missed it the first time around.

Thanks again sweetie for the link.
