April 2011 **Hit or Miss?** (Hair Care Edition)

HIT:
 DermOrganics shampoo. The watery texture of this shampoo is great for washing sew-ins. It foams easily, is sulfate-free, and I love that it comes in a pump bottle.

MISS:
 DermOrganics hair mask. This does nothing for me. It's quite thin for a deep conditioner, and not very moisturizing.

Hit: Joico shampoo and conditioner for dry hair: Love this stuff
Miss: Giovanni direct leave in: What's so special about it?

HIT
Alfaparaf Linea Salone Rigen Conditoner
Alfaparaf Semi-D'Lino Seum-I used this on special occasions only because it's expensive, bought 2 bottles at a cheap price so I can use it more often.

Miss:
Qhemet moisturizes... ugh they left my hair very heavy and my hands were always sticky had to wash my hand every time. I yet to find a all natural product I can keep using besides KBB butter love. I'm never trying a natural product again! Well maybe

Unfortunate miss: my beloved suave shea and almond shampoo, it leaves the hair moisturized and not stripped but after using for almost a year I have to give it up because it was leaving gunky build up on my scalp. It's been replaced.

Hit: L'oreal eversleek reparative shampoo, conditioner and leave in. The whole set is my new staples.

Hit:
Hollywood Beauty Castor Oil
(It keeps my hair moisturized. A little bit goes a long way. Wonderful scent. My hair growth has increased... But honestly I am exercising, drinking more water, and eating healthier... So that could also be why).

HIT: Suave Professionals Almond & Shea Butter Conditioner. LOVE IT!

Queen Helene Smoothing Conditioner/w cocoa butter- too thin. Going to have to fix it up in my workshop.

Hits:

  • Cream of Nature Shampoo (old version, green label)-oh how my hair missed it! :lick:
  • Roux Porosity Control-my hair feels amazing now :yep:
Misses:

  • Mixed Silk Leave in-it could have been my porosity issues (before I used porosity control) but it seems to have dried my hair out. I really wanted to like it too...

Hits:
Qhemet Biologics olive and honey hydrating balm
Qhemet Biologics honey bush tea soft gel

In-between:
CURLS Whipped Cream. Alone, the product is not moisturizing enough for my super dry hair. My next day hair was so dry. When used with the Qhemet balm, it works fine.

Misses
Lustrasilk Moisture Max Olive Oil Hair Mayonnaise - Okay, this was the WORST "deep" conditioner I have ever used. I almost posted a mad rant on this forum about this awfulness. I've had sulfate shampoos that were more moisturizing then this runny crap. I kept it on for 30 minutes and I'm convinced my hair was drier then it was before I slapped it on. If I ever run into the head of Lustrasilk, I'm punching him/her in the face for making this abomination.
