I use it on wet hair and it really holds down the moisture for days at a time. I still use my Aveda Universal styling cream daily, but the 2 really do keep my moisture in order. I am not sure if I really like the Sidr Tree on dry hair, though. I was not really impressed the one time I tried it like that.

This is good to know since I like to moisture really good on wet hair. (and I too use the Aveda Cream on dry hair.) See, I told you your hits never fail me!

Ors Hair mayo is a miss for me. I hate the smell, it doesn't leave my hair feeling all that soft. I will stick with my Mango butter.

I love it too! I don't use it my hair (not yet anyway) but I slather it on my skin after bathing, it smells soooo good.

I just finished my first bottle, I had 2 waiting in the wings tho. :lachen:

This oil is soooooo so good! I love it!

It's only 2.99 at Sally's with a card.
(I have 4 bottles in the wings!):lachen: :lachen: :lachen: :lachen:

Revisited hit
Jojoba Oil - Great all around oil. I love it in my deep conditioners, as a pre-poo and alone. Very light and makes my hair feel silky.

Rosemary Essential Oil - Makes my hair soft

On the fence:
Porosity Control Shampoo - Didn't give me much slip and my hair felt tangled. Left my hair a little smoother but thats about all.

HIT:
I feel unfulfilled inside if I miss a co-wash with VO5 or Suave goods :look: . My hair has grown better since I came to this forum and started doing that. Also I follow my moisturizer with aloe vera gel and I think my scalp likes it, but I just started doing it not to long ago so I need more time (I already have a good feeling about it). I have short hair but I like that the shrinkage is less with the gel .

Miss:
No misses yet, but I still have a few more products to try.

Hits:

Keracare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo
Castor oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vatika Oil!!!!!!!!!!
Pantene Pro-V R&N Breakage Defense hair mask
Shea Butter mixed with Wheat Germ oil on my hair (used on dry hair; detangles and leaves my hair super-soft)
Fantasia IC with Sparkle Lites (the blue one) - best gel EVER
Textures and Tones Red Hot Red

On the fence:

Blended Cutie Butter Me Up :ohwell:

Hit:

Femodyl 619 extra strength + Qhemet Sidr butter as leave ins

I've used the Sidr butter on dry hair and it is okay. Never used the 619 before, so I decided to apply both to my hair. I am drying in a rollerset now but my hair felt great as I was rolling it. I got the idea for adding Sidr butter to wet hair from HoneyDew (thanks Chica!). My hair is shiny and soft. It has soo much mositure it! This is a winner!

Silk Element Heat Protectant http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/3732/373269

This stuff is great. It has a nice scent and it makes my hair feel lite and airy.

Solia flat iron:
This makes my hair straight and it doesn't smell burnt.
Anyone know how to make curls with this?

CON fans or foes - they've got something new.

there's also a new poo in the same product line.

the good news is the certified organic ingredients are certifiably organic .
the bad news is there are some very nonorganic ingredients :perplexed in the products too, so if you're doing the CG - watch out - modified CG's should be ok.

just be aware that this is NOT a purely organic product (read the ingredients)!

sidenote: i opened up the bottles in the store and they don't smell like the usual CON products.

the leave-in feels really good after the first couples uses and i may have found a leave-in that does what i need it to do. will use it for a couple weeks with wet and dry hair to see if it's a treasure or trash.

haven't tried the conditioner yet. find them all at your nearest walmart.

happy hunting!:D

Hit: Octopus claw hair clip....holds the hair nicely in place without tension on my edges.

No misses because I haven't purchased any new hair products ;) yet.

Revisted Hit: Africa's Best Organics Leave-In Liquid Hair Mayo

Soft, shiny, moisterized hair

That stuff is amazing!! I got some at Wal-Mart and was truly impressed! It's a hit for me too. It really detangles nicely. :p

Hits:
-Silk Elements Cholesterol Treatment -I'm making this a staple product
-Scurl No Drip Spray

Miss:
-Sunsilk Conditoner in pink bottle-did nothing to my hair
-ORS Olive Oil Lotion-tried this every which way and it made my hair so hard. Makes a great moisturize for my legs though.

Mizani Lye relaxer, QB Sidr Butter and Extra Virgin Coconut oil continue to be a hit for me.

The jury is still out on Organix Shea Butter poo (I did like the con alot).

The cross wrap is a miss for me. I can get my hair into the wrap position but my ends always come out crimped or weird looking. So its back to the mohawk set or a regular wrap (alternating sides) when I wear my hair straight.

Oh and trying to stretch my relaxer to 12 weeks while consistantly taking MSM is a miss. It will be between 8-10 weeks for me as long as I'm on this stuff.

Hit: Trying to use up Vitapointe I found that it works much better sealing in moisture on wet hair. I applied mango Butter first and then the vitapoint came out shiny and butter soft, even days later.

Elasta QP mango butter on wet hair, my hair and my daughters hair obsorbed it way better and loved it.

Capil Honey & Milk- I've been Co-washing with this on Sundays the last few Sunday poo days and my hair loves it.

Adding Aphoghee to Miss Key wheat Germ DC it's a perfect balance with just a tad more protein than moisture, it worked great when my hair needed a protein boost but not a hardcore treatment and still get the right amount of moisture in one treatment.

Misses none

Hits: Silk Elements MegaSilk Mositurizing Treatment: tried it before and didn't like it at all. Tried it 2 weeks ago then again on Sunday and I loved it. I think it's working now because of another revisited hit Porosity Control shampoo. I think my hair was must have been really porous because now that I've started using the porosity shampoo and conditioner everything is working like butter. Even my recent relaxer took even better this time.

No misses...been throwing a lot of stuff away.

Jury still out- Miss Key 10 en 1, Nioxin conditioner for coarse hair.

Verifen Beneficial Phase Shampoo

Africa's Best Herbal Oil Complex
Africa's Best Super Gro pomade

Oils: Jojoba, Olive, Almond, Avocado, Coconut, Vegetable, etc.
Infusium 23 (original formula)--best thing to detangle my type 4a/b below the bra clasp hair

Miss

Luster’s Pink Oil Lotion – left my hair hard as a rock
Verifen Complex Detangler – not enough slip even though I had my hair stylist used it on my hair for ten years; the results are nice though.
Hollywood Beauty Mink Oil Pomade–just too thick to blend oils in. It has cocoa butter in it.
Murray’s Carrot Oil pomade–to thick to blend oils in
Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose Shampoo – worked fine for the first three washes, but didn’t work afterwards. I had to use it for the first wash only—not enough oil in it according to Rudy, my stylist. I even added oil, and it just didn’t work.
Elasta QP mango butter—left my ends silky at first. The next morning they were dry as a leaf, goes bad too fast plus I had to add olive oil to it. It will mold over time, so it's been in my freezer for a while.
Mayonnaise conditioner—made my hair hard even though I added my oil blend. I’ll add more conditioners to it such as Motions Moisture Plus, Mane & Tail (doctored up) and Silk Elements Moisturizing Conditioner. Then I’ll add Silk Elements Mega Silk Conditioner to make it thick like a mask, because it’s too runny.

Nexxus Therappee--yes everyone raves about this one, but my hair stylist and I did not care for it. This did nothing for my hair, no slip whatsoever. I used it to wash my combs, and it leaves a film on those. I guess I will use it on my floor and rugs.

HIT!!!!!
African's Best Organic Carrot oil cream. I finally found HG moisturizer!!!! 10 time better than Mango butter from Elasta Qp and easier on my pockets! It slicks and moisturizer, it hit two birds with one stone! I'm in love!

Hey! What did you do to the Mane & Tail? :)

Also, I don't like the Nexxus Therappe either. You are not alone.

HoneyDew:

I doctored up the Mane N' Tail conditioner, because everyone was complaining about how hard it left their hair. I doctored it up by adding 14 different oils plus shea butter, cocoa butter, Verifen Complex detangler spray, and Gueye leave in treatment.

I haven't taken it to my hair salon yet for testing, but I hope it works well. If not, I have another 32 ounce bottle to doctor up with a different formula.

Yes, I'm seriously thinking about using Nexxus Therappe on my kitchen floor instead of giving it away. I don't want anyone complaining to me if it doesn't work.

Yes and I'm taking more into the salon--that's not even mentioned in my response above--to test more products.
