Revisited Hit: Vitapointe

Letitia girl, you know I had to go deep into the Product Graveyard to whip this little tube out after you compared it to our Aveda USC. You are so right, the shine is  But, I don't think it will replace my Aveda creme (for moisture), but it definitely will be part of the styling process. Last night after I styled my hair to go out, I put a little of this on and it looked so shiny and good. I love it.

(You know I had to go out and buy the jar of it for the BSS today)

Keracare products....I love this line.

I stretch my relaxers from 8-12 weeks and at my last retouch the stylist only trimmed (more like dusting) a small amount.

In September 2006, my ends were in such bad shape that I went to JCPenney salon and had the stylist give me a retouch and we were discussing a regimen for me to get my hair back in shape. She suggested Keracare, wrapping my hair, moisturizing conditioners, protecting my ends, using less products on my hair because, etc. Anyway, I told her to cut all the bad parts off and she balked, because my hair was at my shoulders and she told me that it would be at the middle of my neck. I told her to proceed and cut. She kept on asking me if I was sure, because she could do it in stages instead of all at once, I told her that I would rather cut it off and get a fresh slate to start with. My next retouch two days after Christmas, she told me that my hair was looking good.

Fastforward to March 14, 2007, she asked me what was I doing to my hair because my ends were in excellent condition and I had a lot of new growth. Well, when I could remember my viviscal and nioxin I would take them, I would at least get 3 or 4 days out of the week. I've also been using the Boundless tresses maybe once or twice a week.

Misses:

Viviscal/Nioxin Challenge- I can't remember to take these pills. I hate swallowing pills.

Wrapping my hair - After a while, it hurts my scalp, even when I switch directions.

See, you and Honeydew and Gharp001 are pressuring me!
I will have to add this to my wish list. Can this products be purchased off line?

I got mine, fermodyl 619 extra strength, at Sally's also. I am in loooove with this stuff. I brought a tube with me on saturday and my hairdressers loved it. I am trying to buy it in bulk.... I use this and the Sidr butter as leave ins, my hair is soft and shiny.

Hit: Jamaican black castor oil...i put it in soaking wet hair, wrapped and air dryed and my hair is sooooooooooo moisturized, not greasy at all.

Miss: Keracare daily mosturizer (although I want to revisit it and see what happens)

Hit : Jamaican Black Castor Oil
I bought some on Sat. I washed my hair, airdried in 4 pigtails with rollers, applied a little bit to my wet ends, and my hair is very shiny and soft.

Aveda Be Curly curl enhancing lotion (as a moisturizer/leave-in)
Aveda Sap Moss Shampoo (revisited hit )
Aveda Cherry Almond Bark conditioner + castor oil :yay:
Aveda Be curly conditioner (as a corinse/detangler) eta: still a good pre-poo detangler, but just sucks as a regular after poo conditioner :(

no misses so far :D

on the fence:
Aveda Shampure conditioner - it's okay, but not enough slip. but it does leave my hair really strong yet soft :ohwell: not sure if i'll repurchase or not.

eta another hit:
braiding the roots of my 2strand twists :weird: - they feel more secure and better hangage overall.

another hit: AVEDA BRILLIANT CONDITIONER!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness, how funny is that white writing!! :lachen:

*Mo sees Priestess*

:poke:

I went into Kroeger's on Saturday (I was in ATL, I wish NYC had a Kroeger's:( )

and I finally found the Dove Green Tea and Cucumber conditioner (mad I left my coupon at home) and I snatched up another Garnier Leave in (mad I left my coupon at home).

I will report back before March is out on the Dove (smells so good)

I got a pj fix for a grand total of 6.47 (after the cashier swiped his Kroeger's card for me):p

Hey Mo'!

I'm having a Garnier moment. This past weekend at Wal-Mart I picked up some Garnier conditioners, Sleek & Shine and the one for permed/colored treated hair. I'll report back with my reviews. ;)

I know that is so funny, but it is not my idea at all. I have seen other ladies do that. :)

You know MonaLisa taught us well about the white writing! giggles.

You are right on the Vitapointe. That shine is unreal! I love the shine it gives. (did I say I like the shine.)

It's good but it can not replace the Aveda. (You are sooo right!) I used my Aveda Styling Cream and was like.....awhhhhhhhhh!

Thanks MissVee. Sally's is always a plus! (No shipping!):)

I think you will like it. Because of Honeydew's great reviews on it, I decided to get it. I'm glad I did. Go to Sallys, thats where I got mine.

Thanks Priestess and Nelli711!!

Girl, that describes my feelings, as well. The 2 products really do complement each other.

another HIT!!!!: MAXIGLIDE, I borrowed my sisters' bestfriends' (I know I know) and I love it. My ends look beautiful and they usually don't. Off to Ebay to buy my own.:p

Hits:
Amla Oil - made my hair so soft and shiny when used as a pre-poo
Vatika Oil - love this stuff, I can use it eveyday on my hair and scalp without it looking greasy nor waying my hair down.
Dudley's DRC 28 - great protein treatment that did not dry my hair out nor made it hard.

Not a new hit, but I thought I'd bring more attention to

ORS LYE RELAXER

It makes no sense how well this stuff works!!!!

On The Fence
CON Nourishing Conditioner - When I use it, it's like its just on my hair. It doesn't make it tangle or anything, but it doesn't make my hair uber soft like some other stuff I use.

Thank you! If this relaxer stays consistant with me, it's my new relaxer staple. I could not imagine a better relaxer, it is gentle, effective and leaves hair shiny. What more could you ask for?

I use the ORS No Lye Relaxer and I love it...for those of you who use the lye one, have you ever used no lye before? Was it the ORS No Lye? What's the comparison as far as dryness, shedding etc?

I haven't used lye in years, not sure if my fine strands can take lye.

TIA for your help!

I've never tried the ORS no-lye, but I always thought that no-lye was supposed to be more gentle on the scalp, and lye was supposed to be more gentle on the hair. I don't think lye would be harsh on your hair, but you have to be careful if you burn easily. I have discovered that despite years of using no-lye, I don't believe I have a sensitive scalp, so it makes more sense to use lye. I used Affirm no-lye before, and it caused dryness, and when I complained to the stylist about it, she said something to the effect of "all chemical processes cause dryness." Not true, ORS Lye does not cause dryness on my hair.

Thanks CAPlush!!! I do burn easily, my scalp is pretty sensitivie. Now I remember why I haven't used lye in years, the burning. :)
