I bought a sample size from Ulta and I liked it after flat ironing, but I wouldn't be pressed to buy it again because it is mainly cones. It really made my hair feel buttery, and my stylist commented about how nice my hair felt. I didn't try it as a heat protectant. This made me want to try macadamia oil which will be much cheaper especially in bulk.

I still don’t know what is a cone and what is so bad about them. Where can I try regular macadamia oil?

Here's a thread about 'cones:
http://www.longhaircareforum.com/ha...like-know-about-cones-cone-free-products.html
The 1st two ingredients of the Macadamia Oil Treatment are 'cones:
Dimethicone and Cyclomethicone
There are other threads about 'cones. I did a quick search of threads with "Cones" in the title.

I believe a build-up of 'cones prevents moisture from getting to your strands.

Also, you can purchase pure Macadamia Nut Oil from:
fromnaturewithlove.com 8oz. for $13.20
camdengrey.com 8oz. for $4.50
and other places online. $36 is a bit much for 4.2oz.

I don't know of any place locally I can purchase it, so I order online.
